Not worried about Mata at all. Did find it strange with him yet to register a goal or even an assist but he has played a major in our attacks still. Pretty sure those stats will be up and running soon enough.

Though he may not have scored or set up any goals, I think Mata has been okay so far this season. He is obviously tired, yet he was very good in the first half against Newcastle.

Mata and Hazard can become the most potent partnership in the EPL. If Oscar adapts quickly then Oscar, Hazard and Mata can be one of the deadliest attacking trio's in the world.

I agree with the iniesta comparison and i would add up like a modric role in to it. Not entirely as double pivot player but instrumental into the build up. Just like modric he doesnt have those amazing stats but the impact of his role is far greater palpable with the results.

And i also agree he will have his needed rest after the supercup.

Mata isn't getting assists or scoring goals but hes providing the ammunition for Hazard to create goals. The pass before the assist basically. Which is still important. I think Mata and Oscar will both get an adequate amount of games this season swapping them for each other. Hazard play most games this season tbh, we cannot afford to not play him every game, hes just that good.

I would rest him against QPR we can beat them without him actually I wouldn't even include him in the match day squad. We can afford to rest him for a while and then ease him in with sub appearances then have him fresh again.

Oscar should start instead of Mata. As stated above Mata should not even be in the squad. Moses can also play some minutes. We have more than enough cover.
