New striker needed - but who?

In terms of teams relying on the strikers for goals we were bottom last year:

We still scored 65 goals but that's just under 30 to Man City. We do have Lamps taking the pens so that makes a difference, but nonetheless we do need our strikers to show up this year. Our service has been bolstered dramatically which will work in tandem with the aim to score more goals but we need Torres to show up. Let's just see how it fairs and give him to the next window for me. Torres showed in the Euros with the service he can still score. If worse comes to the worse we have Sturridge who has that clinical eye for goal (which looked selfish on the wing but is desirable as a striker) and would thrive in the striker role. Lastly we do have an option to play Piazon or Moses as second strikers. If Falcao comes up buy instantly, stupid not to go for the best striker in the world.

I think we can all agree that Berbatov would be perfect as he is Man Utd's fifth choice striker... And we could get him very cheap! Plus we need a forward with experience in the Premier League. I'd hate it if we sign a young player for big bucks from abroad and he just flops in Premiership

I was championing the Berbatov idea but I'm beginning to feel we are just fine. Fairly sure we could recall Lukaka (we are not that stupid) if hit by injury upfront. Worst case scenario is we look for someone in the winter transfer window.

With Torres showing positive signs I don't want a new striker. Yes, it's risky going with 2 strikers, but we can always recall Lukaku and so far he is showing great signs at WBA.

That said, if Daniel decides to leave then yes, we must go into the market for a new striker indeed.

I'm hoping our board wouldn't have accepted a 'fee' - for this type of eventuality... I believe there is also some 'emergency' clause for excpetional circumstances - but you are 100% correct - it's not a TRIVIAL thing as some are suggesting!
