"I am just 24, I want to stay here for a long time," Oscar told Chelsea TV.

"I want to win more games, more trophies, because I love here.

"I love the fans, and the situation, my family like here.

"I don't have nothing to change the club. I like here, I am very happy here."

seems like Oscar  is very happy at chelsea

Coutinhos having his one in ten then I'm guessing?

The love that some here show for counting is really touching.

he's difiniy improving, but still vanishes in tough matches... Never delivers for Brazil for the same reason.

Tonight was a tough match and he didn't vanish. I don't think Coutinho is quality, he is just miles and miles better than Oscar, if you think he isn't you should stop watching football.

The problem with us right now is we are happy with mediocrity, and everyone else is kicking on.

Still second tier though.

i didn't say coutinho I isn't better - actually between the two only coutinho is or has improved.

my prob with this thread is the focus on Oscar and some folks ignore the other mediocres.

either valuations matter or they don't. If they don't, then why do we expect more from Oscar ? Because he is #10 even if he isn't ?

my point remains Oscar has been just mediocre as a number of the other players. If some here have high expectations towards him that's hardly Oscars problem.

Still second tier with Oscar around the 4th tier.

Coutinho has improved, and before anything else is said and before all the usual "Here come the Coutinho lovers' pipe up it's a very prominent comparison because both are numbers tens, playing for their country. I mean if you want to talk mediocrity then there is no finer starting point than Oscar, he hasn't improved, has never looked excellent and he brings zero to this Chelsea side.

If someone here has high expectation for Oscar then they want locking up, he's fucking rubbish, and yes it is Oscar's problem because he hasn't kicked on.

He has a heart like a pea and the quicker we get rid of him the better.

So you want Oscar to hang around?

No I don't - he had his chance at Chelsea and he blew it.

Oscar leaving solves only one of  the 7+ problems the squad has - not if you follow this thread though.

I can't beleive I had to constantly engage in debates about who is better between the two. Coutinho is miles better than Oscar. Coutinho has actually started to show signs of consistent performances recently. He is actually into double figures for the season and is starting to look like the quality player I knew he was.

Even Brazil have dropped him from their starting 11 now. That is how bad he has regressed. Coutinho would improve our team miles if we had him. I don't think Oscar is better than Coutinho at one thing because even his pressing seems non-existent now. He gets bullied off the ball way too easily and has only had 3 really good games for us this season. Swansea, Palace and MK Dons. That is it.

clowns on here think he has potential and should stay. one guy even said his technique is on par with veratti.

any bid that reaches £19m (what we paid for him) should be accepted without question

IMO Counthio is the much better player, I've always said that. A few years ago people laughed but now it's not even up for debate. Countinho is a year younger, has brilliant close control, can shoot, pass, honestly he has everything in his locker to become a world class player. Oscar is a good player but IMO can never be great, He lacks the close control and acceleration to beat men, doesn't score/assist enough, not the best passer either. He's a jack of all trades, a master of none. He's a great tactical player, in the sense that he'll do whatever job you'll tell him to do, man mark someone, cover for the midfielder, play on the wing and track back, but ultimately he fails big time at being a number 10. He's not a youngster anymore, he's 24 and hasn't progressed at all, time to sell.

Just our terrible luck that the season where we'll finally may get rid of Oscar and we won't have CL football to lure a world class replacement. Imagine being able to make a play for Isco or James or Reus to replace Oscar. Don't think we can now. :(

There are still plenty of very good players out there that are an improvement on Oscar, though, who would jump at the chance to move here. Just struggling to think of any right now off the top of my head.

If Roman will pull out the wallet we could have a shot at Barkley, maybe Lanzini if West Ham doesn't qualify for cl.
Could try to lure the Ox here, but it's unlikely, Moutinho is another nice shout, and then there is the Pjanic rumours.
Hell maybe we could try to go for André Gomes, i would love him here. Nainggolan, Gomes, Fabregas, now that's a midfield.

Barkley isn't really the pure #10 I'd want personally. Lanzini just signed a contract like a month ago or something and I'm not sure about him yet anyways. Moutinho is nearly 30 now so I'm not sure if he's what we need.

I'd really love to see the prototypical, creative, classy #10. A player like Özil, Eriksen, Mata in his prime with us, David Silva.

I think Pjanic could probably be that and I'd be delighted if we signed him to replace Oscar.

hakan calhanoglu? can take very good set pieces, and shoot from distance. something we sorely lack with the current squad.
