BleedsBlue 1,549
Why do you guys think that Oscar is a must have signing?
Cz4rny1337 24
BTW it could be: Torres/Sturridge/LukakuMata/Marin - Hazard/Oscar - (Willian? Hulk? Some RW)/Sturridge Lampard/KDB - Ramires/ObiTo sell: Yossi, Malouda and maybe Essien OR MeirelesAnd we still have Romeu for CM role or Kakuta. Find some good place to loan Josh [he must have 1 full season], and we are have great team. If we loan KDB, Oscar can play CM, and the 10 role too. All of this players are versatile [Ramires, Oscar, KDB, Marin, Mata, Hazard]
fAnta 107
All I want to know one thing. To the people who follow him closely...which I assume are the Brazilian in this forum, can Oscar play in the Modric role?Yes or no?Thank you.Oscar is a number 10 for Inter he moves to the left of midfield almost all the time. I'm not sure if CFC should mess around with his natural position when he's so good their. He should be in middle for me and can switch with hazard and mata to really cause opposition problem. Jose M 140
Man i wish there was a re post option here like rt in twitter.Spot on post!WHY do people even care about how much Roman or Chelsea FC spend on transfers? They obviously know what they are doing, and if we dont buy him now he'll be 30 - 35million next season. Chelsea also recorded the highest earnings in Europe so we have the money to invest in talented youngsters.

Hutcho 8,443
Why do you guys think that Oscar is a must have signing?I believe that Oscar isn't a must have signing though can be very benficial to us becuase he is young, extremely talented and has the potential to become one of the best players in his postion. That does not mean he will... Young transfers are always a gamble, and a 25 mil gamble is a bit of a big one, but his youth gives him time and would be able to make him better... Put it this way, why do you believe that this is a terrible signing?

Cz4rny1337 24
Any others playmakers at that price, that age, that skills and place in national team? Cabaye maybe. [but 5y older]
termninja 5,290
So...we have Mata who prefers to play behind a striker. We have Hazard who prefers that too and now we've signed a 25million young player from Brazil who...guess what...likes to play there. Oh, and KDB also prefers playing there and Benayoun is back from his loan.Funny, a season ago we were crying for players like that, and now lots of people are crying because we have too much of 'em.Anyway, I'm sure Oscar was brought here for a good reason. I don't what is RDM's future vision of Chelsea's formation and philosophy, but we will see that really soon. Perhaps Robbie wants to put Eden,Juan and Oscar behind Torres or perhaps he wants to use him as a backup or convert him to a midfielder...I really hope though that we didn't just spend 25million to have the lad sit on the bench. 25mil is quite a bit of money, but then again, if we let him stay at Brazil his price would rise and perhaps we were in danger of losing him to another club.I like him and his style of play though, let's see what happens. Hutcho 8,443
Furthermore, its not like he has no re-sale value, if things don't work out we could sell him and get some of the money we lost back making it less of a gamble, though i believe and are hoping that it will not be the case. Also its another example of us getting one over on the Spuds which is priceless.

Hutcho 8,443
So if you had to choose between KDB or Oscar as a starter?Who would you choose and why?As of right now probably Oscar, though i don't see what the surprise is... Lots of people post virtual lineups on here and none of them have KDB in them as yet... It also depends how we set up, who we are playing against and what our needs are. Though tbh i would play Lampard over everyone, because he is the greatest thing since sliced bread... But in all seriousness the people in charge may seem like they just go nuts over a player and buy him, but they know what they are doing and arn't stupid. In RDM i trust and he will do whats best for our club...
Chelsea? 892
So if you had to choose between KDB or Oscar as a starter?Who would you choose and why?Idk because I honestly haven't watched either of them much. But from game complications I've seen, neither of them should start consistently over Frank or Raul. I so love the fact that kdb has size, but Oscar starts for Brazil. Also going by the hype: which is a good indicator, Oscar seems to be a bigger potential.

Hutcho 8,443
The people in brazil seem to think he is pretty good and i hear they arn't short on good players.. After all you don't just walk into the brazilain team without having something good...Also why does it have to be KDB or Oscar atm they are both chelsea players both have great potential and are both really young, and will have time to show how good they are. I think if you gave all football players a chance to chose a position, over half of them would say they prefer the #10 position. If we are building a man C like attack, we are gonna need Eden H to focus on scoring a little bit more.
TorontoChelsea 4,064
Ridiculous amount of money for an unproven midfielder.25M for a midfielder should get you a young, proven, excellent player and Oscar is far from that. Chelsea bought Juan Mata, who had had 3 years of success in Spain, for less money. City got Silva , excellent in Spain, for less money. Manchester United got Kagawa who has been a dominant force for the best team in Germany for a year and a half for a lot less money. Ozil went for half the price. In fact, Oscar now becomes one of the highest priced midfielders in history. Hopefully Oscar develops well and makes himself worth it, but this is an enormous and needless gamble. Oscar has to become one of the best players in the Premier League for this to even be decent value.
