I'm S Korean so obviously I'm thrilled but crushed for Sturridge.

When Sturridge walked up I knew it was going to happen.

Park Chu Young = the korean Fernando Torres (not in terms of talent but all the drama and controversy with him at Arsenal and the korean national team)

Ki Sung Yeung = Def belongs in the Premier League

i gotta be honest i have watched less than an hours worth of the GB football team. i don`t think sports like Football and Tennis should be in the Olympics. i only saw the Penalty we scored in normal time and the penalty kick from Giggs on. was more interested in the Athletics and other sports. having said all that i`ll be watching Murray and Murray/Robson in their tennis finals and cheering them on.

6 Gold medals for GB today happy days.

So happy for GB, think I'll apply for statesmanship ( would be my third, but hte one i'd feel most proud of) soon.

With Tennsi and Interantional football at Olympics those are 2 slightly different problems.

I think in erms of Tennis, it's perfectly legit, it's olympics and part of Atp/wta schedule and also gives points. the only problem is the schedule for Tennis is too narrow, so peaople have to decide, but it should be possible for everyone eligible to try and represent your country.

As for int. football i am against the whole current organisation of it. With corrupt organisations as Fifa /uefa ruling the competitions, I think one is enough. Again it is more of a decision between club adn international football for many, exp older players + olympcis it's kinda hierachy of tournaments. Already the euros are redundant, as the title means nothing, far less than a cl. Cut it, maintain olympics football and see who is interested

i think Tennis has enough exposure and money given out to the players. for me personally i like the Olympics to be an outlet for "minority sports" and the men and women in those to get their moment in the limelight. i am a big tennis fan,not as much as a football fan but it`s high up there.just think it has enough time in the limelight..however like i said i`ll be cheering on Murray and Linda Robson. :)

Is there a British boxer with a shot for gold?

---

laughed so much as the German commentator completely went mad when Laura Robson owned Chritopher Kas in the base-line exchanges ("U simply have to win a ralley against the young girl"). But generally I wonder whether she will be able to withstand the pressure in the final, as she was broken twice in the 2nd set

I think her name is Laura Robson

Well it is in the mixed double and normal doulbe, as there are many double-specialised player, nobody knows. Even at gran slams and davis cup (who nobody is interested anyway) nobody cares for the doubles.

i knew GB would have tone of those special days and............today seem to be it. Congrats! seems like you pushed Phelps out of the headlines  hahahaha

the way it started out with the first few days it seemed like the pressure was gonna hinder our chances. but as soon as they got the first gold in the rowing they seem to have been draged along by the crowd. proud of my hometown for how they have shown up to support our athletes. glad they sorted out the farce with tickets so the fans could get in.

Phelps only 27 aint he? mad to think he`s retired now. tho he has already got more bling than most street gangs.
