This Weeks Position is Right Center Back.

My ideal CB would be determined, hard working, and passionate. Consistent, Great link up play with the midfielders and always tactically aware. My top 2 picks would be a fight between either Pique or Hummels. Both young and very talented for their age and have showed the world their quality of play. Each of them are not only a great defender, but a great footballer as well which separates them from almost every other defender. Ignoring my Spanish bias, i would give my vote to Hummels.

Hummels for me as well. He reads the game so well which allows him to always be one step ahead of the attacker. His tackling is just as brilliant as his interceptions. Moreover, his skill on the ball are very impressive for a CB: he's very composed and has excellent passing skills. He's also a threat in the air from set pieces. He's also young, so he could only get better from here on.

Despite the previous position already being picked, you can't get anyone much better than Lahm. For the RCB position, I'd have to lean towards Thiago Silva - he's arguably the world's greatest CB in current days. I remember watching him come through with Fluminese, despite being in his early 20s he was still head and shoulders above those around him in both terms of athleticism and intelligence. He's a fantastic leader, even at that tender age.

Yeah I agree, he's no where near the top 5 CBs imo. He's very error prone and for some reason uses his hands more than his feet in defending in the box. At Barcelona he uses his attacking skills more than his defensive ones.
