What your stills don't show is where he was in his stride. If you've ever played the game before you'd know that running at top speed then striking the ball correctly is all about timing.

The screen shot at 8:01 is precisely what I'm talking about, you froze it right after his last touch which created the gap for him to shoot. The split second after that touch made it difficult to get a shot off with any sort of power. 

The only opportunity I see where he should've ripped a shot was the touch before he passes to Diego. The touch before he released the ball was perfect and opened up a shooting lane... he opted to pass it when right there he should've shot it.  Having said that Diego was waiting for it in space and had time to measure a shot, wasn't the best angle but 7/10 times Diego buries that.

The opportunity in the first half I thought he made the right decision to try and open up Fabianski and slip it underneath him. The defender was to the right of him so made no sense to cut inside towards the pressure. Keeper made a good save for sure.

And finally, although it looked like it in live play, Eden didn't jump out of the way to avoid contact from the keeper. He was attempting to chip it over him and missed the ball... 6:07 of the video you are referencing illustrates that perfectly.

How you can do that when your team is 2-1 down (and the way we conceded the two goals were the most annoying ways possible).. how you can see that and then have a chance to equalize and you just jump out the way????? Fuckkk sake...

I think I've lost all hope in him being a top top Ballon D'or winning player if I'm honest. Maybe he's just not as good as we all think he is forreal..

We're basically Eden Hazard FC yet someone still want to be fickle and jump on the gun after one poor game for his standards (decent by others ofc). Be grateful that we still have chance for top4 if this guy will keep up the form he's in because our options in attack including Moses, Pedro, Willian, Oscar shouldn't ever allow that.

BTW. So few commented performance of our Player of The Year which is Willian and not Hazard I remind you. Seriously his standards are so poor that we accept a disgrace of performance that was Swansea ? Our POTY was eclipsed by Moses ffs said no one ever.

I think that's part of the problem... He's reached great heights but can't consistently sustain it.

Eden is far from our problem. Majority of games he's played in I'd say were positive games. Good games. Amazing games. He's not Oscar. But he won't have outstanding performance in every game. Once he has poor game we immediately drop points. That's disgrace for our club that we're so relying on him. Look, his dribbling was way off on Sunday, but his acceleration was there, he was eager, I counted to 5 the times he instigated an action and wanted to receive a ball but there was nothing. We played one combination on Sunday, in the first half, in triangle and Matic only had to pass forward ball and Eden would be through on goal, but nah he passed a bit backward and the move was off. Diego Costa could pass through ball twice to Eden and he would be clear on goal but nothing came. We only have one passer in the team who sits on the bench. Eden's dribbling has to be on point in every game to create some moves because he won't receive anything with the moves he initiates.

If he could receive balls on point from the moves he starts, he is 30 goals player. Nothing in the world will convince me otherwise. Suarez/Benzema as his striker partnership would make him deadly. Drogba was 37 years old but he's the best Eden had as his link up play was on point.

I only picked the Tottenham game because I wanted to make a point about the moves he initiates yet nothing comes off them because the next pass is so lame. This video presents it's nicely. 1:01 and 1:37. That's it. And there's usually a few times a match it happens.

Anyway, forget it, I don't want to discuss about Eden with you. You were the one that said something like "We are lucky if we'd get 30m for him in the summer". I remember it clearly. I want everyone to see it. Absolutely mental note. Pff. Shame on you.

Why don't you look up Hazard vs Porto away or the many times last season he was piss poor and ineffectual? You use clips from the 2nd last game of the season to make a point? LOL...

And if you read what I said correctly you would see I said "On current form he wasn't worth more than 30M"

What the hell, I want to make a broad point you want to pick up single matches. Last season is disgrace for all Chelsea Football Club, for all players. Willian was our Player of The Year. It never gets worse than that.

What you said is disgrace anyway. How fickle you have to be to jump on a guy, not a club in a season which every player was piss poor and think that at the age of 25 he won't recover. Sissoko from Championship is worth 30m. You have to either be braindead or have some agenda to jump on single player and not 20 players.

lol... what's hilarious your level 9 fanboy posts. What you will always get from me ALWAYS is the badge before anyone else and everything else. If a player, no matter how good he can be, comes to Chelsea and performs well below their level and looks disinterested in fighting for the club you will ALWAYS find me criticizing the commitment. 

I'm glad he looks more into it this year because if he is on his game Chelsea wins... That's all I care about.

The resolute fans complain he did not receive the ball, but for a great player (that he is) he's not that great finisher, so I'd be far more interested in how many passes HE MADE. And that is where he disappointed me... perhaps he was a bit selfish having had a great game before, and tried too hard to solve the problems on his own.

However, that's what great players must have: the discernment as to what to do at a particular time to best help the team.

totally agree with your last sentence.  And someone said something about wishing he had the mentality of sanchez, but I think sanchez suffers from a lack of discernment, so i'm happy we have a slightly more humble player.
