Eden Hazard

I know we're all expecting it to take a monster, Gareth Bale sized bid for us to sell, but with the baffling decisions our board has made recently would you put it past them to accept something far below what he's actually worth?

If De Bruyne was £55m, Sterling £50m, we sold Luiz for between £40-50m, and Stones is going to be £40m or more then surely, surely our board would start the bidding at about £80m? He's better than Bale and if fucking Spuds can get £80m for him then we should be getting around that for Hazard.

If you read well... you will see I was talking about football players in general.... Not only Hazard.

If you refer to 'us belgians' as 'lot of plastics' that can f*ck off as well... Than I'm afraid our discussion will not last that long! It would be too easy for me to start bashing you as an Englishman. Maybe the difference is that, us belgians, are educated and polite, and for this do not belong on a football forum.

You can have high words about all the Belgian players that were dropped by the almighty Chelsea. First Lukaku, then KDB,. And who knows in the near future also Hazard, Courtois & Musonda(?). But the first one is actually top striker in the League at the moment. KDB one of the best AM players in the world, same thing with Hazard. And Courtois is without doubt already amongst the best goalkeepers in the world at age 23(!).

You can laugh about it and act that we are the big morons here... But you had the backbone of the current number 1 national team in hands! If you think you're better off because they are all gone. What else can I say than conclude you're just plane stupid or have absolutely no football knowledge at all?!!!

Come on now...... what is it with this forum and belgians? <_< He never once said "belgians" ... i just.......ugh, also let's talk about national teams when Belgium will finally put in a truly good performance, it takes more than a few individuals to make an effective team.

Anyway about Hazard the player, not Hazard the belgian, I think there's no denying he's awful at the moment, the whole "team from is awful" argument doesn't hold anymore, because there are players out there giving their all and performing decently (Costa, Fabregas, hell even Ivanovic now is closer to an actual footballer) the only defence you can throw in front of Hazard right now is that he's coming back from injury, so maybe this can be the cause of his still shit form. That, however, won't justify his seemingly stinking attitude, he's just not effective anymore and right now i'd rather have Traoré or Kenedy taking his starting place, at least they'll show desire. In short, people expected from Hazard what Willian has shown this season, but that's just not happening. I still stand my ground on saying i'd rather having him with the club for at least another season, but if he leaves, with his current mindset, Chelsea won't have much of a loss at all, actually there's plenty of space for improvement from this version of Hazard.

He will leave for 50m pounds or something stupid after being worth well over 100m last year.

Besides the prospect of actually losing him, this is my biggest worry. Or that we'll buy a couple of decent players with potential to replace him rather than a superstar.

Bale had a great season before moving to Madrid. 26 goals for a winger was a great achievement. Stones and Sterling are English so just leave it here.. De Bruyne was probably overpriced. He had a great time in Germany but he wasn't a hit in England everyone expected.. I suppose PSG wanted Hazard last summer for 60M or so. I doubt we can get more than that price now. It would be madness.

Maybe it's because English is not my mother tongue... but I interpreted the part: "you lot of plastics go as well" as Polo referring to the Belgian fans on this forum.

You should know Polo is not a big fan of our belgian (ex) players and let's no opportunity pass by without telling this.

Torres shows up in Hazard's topic. New low reached.

Yeah, I probably should shut down the forum for a while. Torres has been gone for some time and he's entering the stage where the likes of Kalou and Anelka are now in the fans' memories (the "he-was-not-that-bad" stage). I can write a long rant about goldilocks, but I will not let him waste my time and nerves any more than he did during his miserable years here, so I'm just gonna say that anybody who says Hazard, even in his current form, is worse than Torres, is a wanker and I have NO respect for that kind of opinion. Talking and tearing up the memories about him is an abomination, it should be punishable by death (ban).

I agree that Torres was HORRIBLE, BUT, seriously, Hazard this season has been worse than any season Torres played here.

Hazard scored 1 goal(penalty) and gave .. what? 2 maybe 3 assist? Defenders have better stats than that.

He isn't even dribbling past players and organizing the attack, he literally is doing nothing.

This guy is so talented but has a mindset of a 5 year old bullied school kid.

torres was a million times worse. literally destroyed the team. hazard still looks more threatening in his fat half assed mode

Oh don't get me wrong. I hated his guts while he was here. I'm just saying that current Hazard isn't that much better.

If he can perform like a superstar for 3 seasons, and then starts to struggle with even going past one defender... You probably have 2 options:

  • he cannot play soccer anymore
  • he's struggling with something

The easiest solution for the masses is to say he sucks and he can fuck off... Like a lot of Football Einsteins on here are claiming here on the forum. Bravo for that, you clearly are masters of wisdom!!

Others (that at least had some education) start doubting his attitude and his mental strength OR the willingness to fight for the team.

I can follow this last group. Maybe indeed it's the fact that Eden is not strong enough mentally or is a spoiled brat. BUT why was he good enough to be fight for the club the last three seasons... but not anymore?

  • Maybe he's just injured, but not given rest... simple as that!
  • Maybe he has issues with Hiddink, the board, club Doctor...
  • Maybe the whole Mourinho or Carneiro Saga is not so easily forgotten by the players as everyone thinks.
  • Maybe he's angry with the club for whatever good personal reason
  • Maybe he's just going down with the bad form of the team... => which probably makes most sense!

I think perform like a superstar for 3 seasons is a huge inaccurate statement.

He is a very good player obviously but his first season he was very much in Mata's shadow and inconsistent which is understandable considering he was in his first season here, in the second season he was a bit more consistent and showed a lot more improvement in terms of tactical discipline too and then last season he was excellent for most of it but his biggest issue is people who bigged him up as a superstar as soon as he signed on the dotted line (sorry its not a direct dig at yourself if you think it is, there were very many who thought that he was as soon as he signed so please don't take it personally) so he got some sort of immunity to criticism, regardless if he was due it or not. This season he is due more criticism than anybody, people criticized Terry, Cesc, Costa at the start of the season but they took it on the chin and they have now bounced back, Hazard hasn't and now he has gone and talked up some sort of mystery move to PSG which also doesn't help his case. You didn't see Cesc, Diego or anybody else talking about this sort of speculation saying 'it would be hard to say no to PSG' (or Atletico in Costa's case/Juventus in Cesc's case) or whatever, he should be concentrating on football, not about maybe going to Paris because hes found it hard. This is why the fans are angry, because he is an exceptionally talented player, we've seen his evolution in the last 3 years and it has been great but now he seems more interested in leaving than playing great football for Chelsea FC, its clear to see in his body language this year on the pitch that he isn't satisfied at Chelsea and honestly if he leaves he wouldn't be missed by a large majority of fans purely because of this reason.

Keane:

Quote

‘I can’t understand these players, he signed an extension of five years only last year, when we saw how brilliant he was… and then he’s coming out with all that nonsense on the eve of a big game.

‘If I was a team-mate of his I would kick him up and down the training pitch. Some of the senior players have got to get hold of him. He’s a talented boy, but his attitude is like a spoilt child. It was absolutely ridiculous.

You don’t mind some players sometimes being moody, or having their head turned if they think they might be moving, but once you go on that pitch you’ve still got your pride.

'You’re playing for your team-mates, for your club, for your supporters, for your family. You’ve got to go out and perform, and be moody after the game if need be.'

Hoddle:

Quote

Before, they had a [Didier] Drogba, they had John Terry, a Frank Lampard and Petr Cech -experienced players who would’ve stopped that at source.

‘At the end of the day for me, there’s something there. Having signed a five-and-a-half year deal a year ago… if he wants to go back to a league and to a club that wins the league by 30 points each year, he’s not testing himself as a player. That’s what disappoints me.

'He’s got to knuckle down and play well for Chelsea this year, that’s who’s paying his money now.

‘He’s a top player… last year he was exquisite at times, he probably won the league in the first half of last season for Chelsea, and he’s nowhere near that at the moment.'

Finally the pundits are talking some sense here.
Good job! :)

With his CURRENT attitude he is on right path to follow Quaresma, Balotelli etc.

He is not injured, he is super talented and the whole team is performing better than two months ago. Except for him. Either its some mental block and he just needs fresh start next season or he simply doesnt give two fucks anymore for whatever reason which would be odd. But seeing him play, you can see he has ability, but he doesnt realy care. Not to mention his physical condition. Last couple seasons he was realy quick and agile, this season he is alot slower. When dribbling he doesnt even take on players to beat them with skill and speed but rather passes to someone else.

I realy like Eden, but he needs to pick up next season. Hopefuly we dont sell him because there are no replacements for inform Eden.

And his comments about Psg and Real are getting absolutely ridiculous. All the talk he makes and if he was in super form ok, but right now he is far from it and should rather think on how to get back to best instead of what he will say in next interview.

I would go heavy with him !sales ? little effort ? OK well! prior to training ( not only to him ) I make him spit blood and then off junk food and a nice diet! Then if it is not enough and does not change even as an attitude then I put it out pink!
