Neymar had an outstanding game today but it's not like he was unstoppable. He has 8 goals in that garbage leage this season, even though he plays against sides like Granada, Leganes, Osasuna and Alaves.

Hazard is still the better dribbler. But what Neymar has over hazard is Neymar does not disappear in matches, he might have a bad game sometimes but he's always available. Even with messi and Suarez on the pitch, Neymar still demands for the ball to be passed to him more than messi everytime. He doesn't just go 10-15 minutes without touching the ball. 

And another thing he's better than Hazard at is that last minute assist. When last have we seen hazard make a pass through the middle to someone making the run behind?? He prefers to pass to Moses on the wing or kante in the middle or a pass and go with costa rather than passing to a runner through the middle. 

If hazard improves on the mentality of not disappearing like he did perfectly against arsenal and last match and those type of passes through the middle to runners, he'll easily be better than Neymar imo.

If we're comparing players who grew up & developed as strikers vs. players who grew up & developed as wingers I'll have to add I think Suarez is better than Ribery.

Hazard needs to start performing in the CL and/or international tournaments before he can be compared with the very best. That's where you prove your true worth. Eden is a domestic star after having conquered England, and France before that, but not an international star (he was very good in the EUROs but was lacking in genuine decisiveness and/or match impact). Until then he's just a big talent unproven on the biggest stage.

Same goes for players like Aguero, Silva, Toure (too late now), Pogba, Kane, Kante, Costa (one good CL campaign isn't quite enough) etc.

I wanted to add Sanchez to that list but he's done big things for Chile.

That doesn't matter much to me, guy performs in the biggest games all the time. For me that's one of the most important qualities in a player. @DYC.'s post sums it up perfectly.

Very strange comparison again. Trumpesque. Neymar has always mainly been a left forward, since academy days at Santos. 

Essentially saying you can't compare Hazard and Neymar. How ridiculous.

I'm sure i'm gonna get stick for this but i didn't think he was that great actually (performance wise). Don't get me wrong the freekick and the assist were sublime but apart from those 2 moments he didn't really do much else all game. Scored a penalty that wasn't one and dived to win the first penalty.

Kinda mental actually that he gets such plaudits when he barely did anything for 88 minutes. He does deserve praise but the praise he's getting is way over the top. Pundits calling it "one of the best performance they've ever seen from him". "Best player on the pitch"

Lol Neymar disappears plenty. He went several months without scoring a goal ffs. In a league where the difference between the top teams is that big that's just ridiculous.

It also helps that he's got a team of all  highly technically skilled players to play with.

You misunderstood what I meant by disappearing in matches. Even if Neymar has a poor match for Barcelona or Brazil, you rarely see him go for 15 mins without touching the ball. Hazard does this especially for Belgium while Neymar is the Alpha for Brazil. 

Yesterday messi and Suarez were on the pitch but Neymar demands that the ball should get to him always, no matter if there are other world-class players. If you check my posts, my highest criticism for Hazard comes when he doesn't touch the ball for long periods and we're finding excuses to defend him on that. 

Hazard has the talent to be easily better imo. Even lampard has recently said that he's the most talented player he has played with. But hazard needs more variety, for example that last minute assist to win the match from Neymar. It's not as if Neymar is fabregas that is perfect in those passes, but he's alpha enough to dare to make them while hazard will pass it to Moses on the other wing instead of to Pedro/costa making the run on goal.

Neymar has proved it on both sides. Hazard isn't going to be a high goalscoring winger, I agree it's not his style so I've stopped asking for him to shoot more. But if you’re a winger that doesn't shoot a lot, then he should add through passes to his game which would make him get far more assists than he has through only crossing.

my feelings and understanding of why he wouldn't leave chelsea in the next few years is because, I have a feeling he wants to see how conte chelsea and the new nike deal kits and the new stadium being built and eden hazard playing at wembley instead of stamford bridge when have to play at wembley.

 

I also think hazard knows and he is the only one who can break and will beat frank lampard's most goal scored for chelsea record of being the all time record holder for goals scored for chelsea. or I think he can and he wants to how the 2nd and 3rd season goes for Conte before Hazard decides if he is ready for even more pressure that comes with playing for real madrid or barcelona or bayern.

Not to discount the ability of our players, but Barca also have Messi and Suarez that teams have to worry about. It's pretty much just Hazard in terms of highly skilled attacking players here.

I don't like comparing players but ability wise, I would say that maybe the only one who is better than Hazard in the world is Messi. But the thing is that Hazard's problem is that he is not a direct player. He's a world class dribbler and he almost never loses the ball, but that's because he doesn't take risks, he only shoots when he has a 90% chance to score, he would have never crossed the ball like Neymar did yesterday for the 6th goal, he would just pass it to Moses to retain possession. I love watching him play and I really think we are lucky to have such an amazing and talented footballer, but if you ask me, I would prefer someone like Bale or Neymar - Players with "chutzpah".

It is not a problem. This is why you have different players in the squad, to give balance and not be one-dimensional. I feel Pedro compensates what Eden lacks very well and Eden compensates what Pedro lacks. This is one of the reasons why we have been so good this season going forward as opposed to when Hazard and Willian were playing together. Hazard is or at least should be a central player like he prefers and like he has been this season. He is more a playmaker than a runner and scorer, every Chelsea fan should have figured it out by now. If you force Hazard to be something he is not you take away the positives from his game (see last season for reference).

And people saying he would never play a ball like Neymar yesterday and other shit should get a grip. Unprovoked negativity, Hazard had absolutely nothing to do with yesterday's game yet he's still brought up over here in bad light. It's alarming to me that you rate our star player so poorly that you bash him every time you get a stiff one on something somebody else in some other team does. Would Neymar have scored THAT goal against Arsenal? Let's think about that for a second. Sometimes I get these evil thoughts and wish he would just go, so I could read those same people crying and moaning like always. You lot deserve Kalouda.
