as bad as we were, it had a lot to do with management. clearly this team at it's current stage is good enough for top 4. we are pretty much a right back, a world class forward away from title challenge.

maicon and hulk away from competing for the title.

Not at all, Hazard is unproven, i don't expect too much from Marin and De Bruyne will be loaned i bet.

completely disagree. with maicon, we have enough defensive cover. with hulk, we are a complete team even without a deep lying playmaker.

we have enough players competing for every position if we get those two

You don't understand, i never concluded Hulk or Maicon, because they are not done deals.

i said without those two, we are good for top four- outside challengers for title. but we need those two to complete our team..so badly. so close to giving de matteo a dream team.

Hazard is unproven in the prem though he is a great talent which will definately be an upgrade on anyone else we would play in that position, as well as ensuring that Mata can play in his preferred position if di'matteo decides to play them that way. I don't think we are that far away. Definately top 4 if not challenging for the title. I prefer our squad over united's every day of the week.

So did Spurs last season, and Man City, but City only managed to just win on goal difference.

Addition of Hulk, Maicon & Regista: Win the title, final of the UCL/perhaps winning it.

I see it more as top 3 as we are. Put Hulk in there, and we have a pure attacking 4, which if it gels together (Torres remembers where the goal is) could be pretty much the best attacking lineup in the prem (Man city being the one who could possibly better it), and we have always been pretty good defensively, and the fact that our attacking 4 would be that good would make it easier on the two sitting behind making us better defensively. So for me the addition of Hulk would see us in the top 3 and if torres can get us 20 or so goals in the season then we would be very great title contenders. Obviously a Regista would be extremely useful though its not like we have no-one who could work there, Lampard for example.

Optimism is great, but I think this is a little over the top. Our new first 11, including the signings you've mentioned above, has 4 players new to the EPL (possibly 3 depending on who the midfielder is). We're building a new team - it's going to take time, we shouldn't expect instant results.

I'd be happy with a top 4 finish, winning the FA Cup and a decent run in Europe.

on paper, it's a beastly team. it would obviously take time as does anything in life but the team on paper is tremendously strong WITH the additions of hulk and maicon. remains to be seen if it will happen tho. even spuds want hulk now. LOL

registas can be in two forms. deep lying or attacking. we already have three attacking play makers. hazard, de bruyne and juan- all of who love to play as no 10.

Top 4 finish, and 3 trophies (Community Shield, European Super Cup, Club World Cup) would be great. Even better if we win a quintuple of cups (throw in the Carling and FA Cups to those three).

A decent showing in Europe, where we defend our title as well as we can, say quarter finals or semi finals in addition to 3-5 trophies would be excellent. It's surreal to think we're in contention for 7 trophies next season.

TBH who cares that much about the european super cup and club world cup. Ofc a trophy is a trophy, and ideally we would win everything. But i would swap all those 3 for an fa cup. Or even the carling cup.

That's wrong. A 'Regista' is a deep lying playmaker. A Number 10 or Attacking Midfielder is a 'Trequartista'.
