Hutcho 8,443
In my eyes, I see it like thisCurrent team (with the new additions of Hazard, De Bryune, Marin): Top 4, no higher than 3rd.Addition of a Maicon: Top 3, closer to 2nd than to 4th.Addition of Hulk & Maicon: Top 2, challenge for the title.Addition of Hulk, Maicon & Regista: Win the title, final of the UCL/perhaps winning it.I see it more as top 3 as we are. Put Hulk in there, and we have a pure attacking 4, which if it gels together (Torres remembers where the goal is) could be pretty much the best attacking lineup in the prem (Man city being the one who could possibly better it), and we have always been pretty good defensively, and the fact that our attacking 4 would be that good would make it easier on the two sitting behind making us better defensively. So for me the addition of Hulk would see us in the top 3 and if torres can get us 20 or so goals in the season then we would be very great title contenders. Obviously a Regista would be extremely useful though its not like we have no-one who could work there, Lampard for example.
Slam Dunk 1,442
Addition of Hulk, Maicon & a Regista: Favourites to win the title, final of the UCL/perhaps winning it.Optimism is great, but I think this is a little over the top. Our new first 11, including the signings you've mentioned above, has 4 players new to the EPL (possibly 3 depending on who the midfielder is). We're building a new team - it's going to take time, we shouldn't expect instant results.I'd be happy with a top 4 finish, winning the FA Cup and a decent run in Europe. KonohasOrangeFlash 2,607
New players or not with that much Talent we'd be favourites for the title, end of story. I want a Top 3 finish at minimum with our current squad. If we add all those players I mentioned I'll be disappointed and a bit surprised if we don't win the title. capriccioso 2,545
Top 4 finish, and 3 trophies (Community Shield, European Super Cup, Club World Cup) would be great. Even better if we win a quintuple of cups (throw in the Carling and FA Cups to those three).A decent showing in Europe, where we defend our title as well as we can, say quarter finals or semi finals in addition to 3-5 trophies would be excellent. It's surreal to think we're in contention for 7 trophies next season.

But i would swap all those 3 for an fa cup. Or even the carling cup. It's a prestige thing. If we win the CWC we can actually say we are World Champions. Winning a trophy midseason is a nice little morale booster for the players. There's also a lot of prize money involved and the trophy itself is magnificent. That and the fact that it's something that even the best team of it's generation can only win 3-4 times a decade makes it a top priority for me. Strike 7,492
completely disagree. with maicon, we have enough defensive cover. with hulk, we are a complete team even without a deep lying playmaker.we have enough players competing for every position if we get those twocechivanovic cahill terry colemikel lampardhulk mata hazardtorresturnbullmaicon ferreira luiz bertrandessien mereilesramires sturridge marinlukakubenayoun, de bruyne, romeu, mceachran not even used easily good enough to challenge for trophiesdo not be under the impression that by adding Hazard, we will play expansive attacking football overnight and start gettin bucketloads of goals. We still need 2-3 more players to reach even top 4 level. let's face it, our build up play was beyond shit last season and all we did was dump it long to Drogba - eg - Spurs semifinal where we couldn't exert pressure and then Lampard dumped long to Drogba for the first goal. Our best football was played on the counter but you can't expect us to set up a counter attacking game against majority of the premier league teams. it all depends on the pre-season. still optimistic that our ground passing, build up play will improve but to assume that it will improve is irrational

capriccioso 2,545
If we win all 7, we can claim we're better than Barcelona 2008/09, as they only won 6 We'll just brush under the carpet that both of us had 100% success rates.

We were pretty bad in the early part of the season and we were still only 5 points behind.we need 2 players to be title challengers as i've said so many times imo. maicon and hulk. the central midfield will be of less effect as all our central midfield players are intelligent enough to play a certain role and lampard is still world class just not consistent enough. the attacking responsibilities will move on to hulk, hazard, mata, torres etc..sturridge off the bench. it's a wicked looking team if hulk and maicon does join. sexy team.
