CHOULO19 24,332
Tbh, I blame Oscar more the goal we conceded tonight. Yes it was very daft to attempt that pass when he was so far out of position, but had we had a proper DM he would have covered for him. But neither Lampard or Oscar are proper DMs so you can only put so much blame on them. I'm also not sure what Ivanovic was doing when Leeds were on the counter for their goal. He got caught ball watching and gave Becchio (spelling?) too much space. Ivanovic baffles me sometimes.

You cant complain against him wandering off we were playing leeds not atletico madrid. Someone should have covered himBtw Ivanovic was absolutely woeful, before he scored. Ivanovic baffles me sometimes. That came out wrong, I don't blame Oscar, because he's playing out of position, just saying that it was his job to cover for Luiz.As for Iva, he made a lot of mistakes in the first half, this was not one of them. He was doing his job in this scenario which is to go and press the player with the ball so he can't pick out the best pass. However, Oscar who was trying to get back in Luiz's place realized that he won't be able to make it and changed his run midway to press the player with ball. Iva then had to sprint back to cover back where Oscar, as the DM, was supposed to be, but by then he was too late.

Luiz was excellent and continued his stunning form under Rafa. And that 30 yard inch-perfect diagonal pass to Hazard on the fourth goal... someone posted before meI'll have someone ban him straight away! DYC. 7,542
Don't think those with that typical British mentality will ever like David Luiz. He played a bad pass in the attacking third, the opposition had so much ground to cover, flawless counter attack btw, and there were enough players at the back (though Oscar switched off). To put all the blame on him for that goal would be ignorant. Corner
Kojo 4,676
Look at the first three pages of this thread, it's just amazing how everything turned out within two years, it's like he's gone from being one of the best defenders ever (potentially), to being a liability and should be sold. Let's hope Barca don't come knocking on our door when Puyol starts to think of retirement in a few years.Hey! That's not fair to me! I have my rights! I think he's one of the best CBs in the world right now to be honest. And let's says Guardiola does come next season, Luiz will flourish under him. He's the perfect type of CB for Guardiola.Hm, I've said Luiz is one of the best CBs in the world and mentioned Guardiola... all in the same post. Corner 456
That's going a bit too far mate. It's my honest opinion though. It's David Luiz, he is always going to cause contrasting opinions between people. Similar to Mikel in that way.

zolayes 14,489
I think David will always be likely to make mistakes because of the risks he takes , That is why I'd like him him as far forward as possible even at times in the 3 behind the striker

While the Dutch, Spanish & Brazilian for example are used to defenders pushing up, keeping the ball after winning it at the back instead kicking the ball out of play (unless there's no other option) etc. Muzchap and Corner

Beepu 1,714
Really if he stops clowning around and losing possession in dangerous areas he can be one of the best. Hes energetic and his interceptions are great just that stupid habit hes got
