Still not back in the states, in a cyber stand in Caza, but it brought to my intention of the possibility of Drogba possibly being nominated and winning the Ballon'dor.

It is the trophy of the player who performed the best overall season, and is regarded as the best individual achievement of the highest honor.

The point i'm trying to make is you have the likes of Messi and Ronaldo, who just tear up records in Europe and La liga, whos names the media drools for and no blame. Then you have RVP and Mario Gomez, players who have unlocked their full potential and dominated their domestic campaigns. Then there is Didier Drogba, now unlike the above, he doesn't have a numerous amount of goals but he has something more special, every goal he scored, changed our season dramatically, Napoli, Tottenham, Liverpool, Barcelona, and Bayern. When somebody needed to step up in the most important occasions this season, Drogba takes it out of these 5 players. A player who stepped up when millions prayed, a club that was on the verge of going downhill, who showed the greatest amount of passion and spirit this club will ever see.

Didier Drogba, I salute you. You showed something those 4 couldn't. Scoring goals when they mattered.

It's a long shot considering its yearly based performance, but a hell of a season mate. Your name is engraved with this club.

Who cares, this award is reserved for the most flashy player, the one who seems to dribble past every defender and score a placed shot; the one who scores 5 goals in a meaningless 7-0 league win.

Not for the one who steps up when it counts and wins trophies. Not for the one who scores the winner in a 3-2 or 1-0. Ronaldo and Messi- forever bottlers.
