one memory i will always have of Kalou is from the 09/10 season, a few hours before Chelsea played Stoke at the bridge! i was saying to my dad how useless Kalou was, he would normally agree with me, but that day he decided to try to wind me up and say that Kalou was a fantastic player and one of the best in Europe ect, he then went on to say that Kalou would shut me up and score a hattrick against Stoke! So i told him to put his money where his mouth is, I knew he wouldn't back down and i was right as he pulled out £50 and put it on the table! i just started laughing and got my £50 out and the bet was on i thought it was going to be the easiest £50 i ever earned! so we sat down to watch the game and what happened Kalou goes and bangs in a hattrick! Unbelievable! i was speechless, and learned my lesson to never underestimate Kalou!

anyway good luck Kalou! great servant to the club.

Great that he scored a hattrick for the club. Stoke's defending was pathetic for all 3 goals.

Glad that he's gone. Time to see some new faces on the pitch!

Geez, even with that, you're still trying to find excuses to get on Kalou's back. Would credit him for his instincts and persistence of getting into those positions to score those goals.

There are things I rate more then footballing knowledge when it comes to footballers. It's their dedication, motivation, love for the club and attitude. Salomon always tried his best and over the course of years gave his contribution to our success. More then some, less then others, but he gave it. He left us some nice memories, and some not really nice, but he left his mark. Even though he could be frustrating, I've always said I will wish him and goodbye, good luck and thank him once he departs and bloody hell that's what I'm gonna do.

Goodbye.

Good luck.

And thank you lad.

He comes from the Ivory Coast Kalou,Kalou

He don't do coke like Adrian Mutu, Mutu

He crossed the ball from the left

it landed right on the Riise's head

That's why we love Salomon Kalou!

And fuck, he done his part for our CL win this season. His defensive work at latter stages was important, and goal against Benfica away a key moment for the return leg.

Chelsea have paid tribute to Salomon here, these are the first couple of paragraphs...

Chelsea Football Club today bids farewell to Salomon Kalou, who has come to the end of his contract, and we would like to express our thanks and best wishes to a player who has been a valuable member of the team during his time at Stamford Bridge.

Kalou signed in the summer of 2006 and leaves six years later with a fistful of winners' medals including ones for the Premier League, FA Cup, Carling Cup and, of course, the Champions League.

He arrived as a 20-year-old understudy to the established Didier Drogba and fellow-new-arrival Andriy Shevchenko and quickly gained a reputation as an impact substitute.

No player in Chelsea history has come off the bench to enter the action more often than Kalou's 107 occasions but it is a record he doesn't enjoy owning, so it will please him that he closed his time at the club as a clear first-choice starter under Roberto Di Matteo's stewardship.
