EskWeston 696
So when are we to have Eduardo's funeral??? The injury is terrible no doubt about it! The tackle? Seen far worse and any talk of a ban ect.. is way overboard. The absolute worst thing about this is the reaction! They really have been talking and reacting as if the poor f**ker has passed away!! It's not the first time it has happened and it certainly won't be the last! Don't remember this sort of reaction when Shearer broke Bridgeys leg... Why demonise Taylor?.He made a rash tackle, but certainly did NOT intend to cause injury or maim Eduardo.Anything more than a 3 match ban for Taylor would be very harsh. What next-sue Taylor for loss of earnings? If football injuries ever ends up in the courtroom,we might as well all pack up and go home. Football's a contact sport. No? misschief 24
Sympathy starts to wane a bit when its turned into the biggest football injury in history for days on end. Yes he sustained a horrible injury but it was an accident ffs, Taylor caught him high with his studs, not a bloody machete. Arsenal need to get a bloody grip. The latest prediction is he could be out for 9 months, so not ideal but luckier than some before him who've never played again. As for Wenger, he needs to learn to either keep his emotions in check or his mouth shut because his public condemnation was totally out of order. He can retract whatever the hell he likes but it doesnt change the fact it was seen and heard by millions in the first place.

Laylabelle 9,534
Thing is it werent really a horror tackle as they said, horro break but still the way they were going on about it when they were about to show it thought be a case of two footed the ball down the other end of the pitch.Crouchs lunge could've been a horror tackle as it was done with intent really, luckily for Mikel he had crap aim but not Taylors, mistimed As said if it had been an Arsenal player Wenger wouldnt have seen it and the fact he retracted his statement afterwards as said aint gana help. That made people comedan Taylor before even seeing the tackle Edited February 25, 2008 by Laylabelle
SuperSheva7 0
Birmingham defender Martin Taylor has been the subject of death threats after his challenge on Eduardo left the Arsenal striker with a broken leg. Croatian fans, angry at Eduardo being ruled out of the Euro 2008 finals, are among supporters who have posted threatening messages on various internet sites. One website specifically set up after the incident during Saturday's 2-2 draw at St Andrews has already received 27,000 messages directed at the former Blackburn player. And security personnel had to restrain Croatian journalists who ran onto the road and tried to get into Taylor's car as he left the club's Wast Hills training complex on Monday. But Taylor has received many messages of support from people inside the game of football which Blues manager Alex McLeish claimed had helped to limit the psychological damage he could have suffered. 'There has been a furore over the incident which has probably gone too far and we would like to draw a line under it now and let Martin get on with his career and hope Eduardo gets back as soon as possible,' McLeish told Sky Sports. 'I've heard about the death threats and you are going to ridiculous proportions if that is the case. You've just got to get on with it and dismiss those things. There are some crazy people in the world. 'I think Martin's wife was upset at the weekend but he has come in this morning and got on with his life again thanks to the support of everyone who knew it wasn't a challenge with malicious intending to injure a player. 'We've had to rally around Martin because he was mentally shattered by the whole experience. I would have been worried about him coming into training today had we not received the support from football people the length and breadth of the country. 'But the fact he has had such magnificent support has helped Martin psychologically because I felt he could be damaged by this incident as well. soccernet.com death threats? come on it was an accident! BlueLion. 21,491
I feel sorry for Taylor. Its a disgraceful challenge but I am in no doubt it was unintentional. He's gonna get murdered by away crowds all the time.
Ryan C™ 0
I know it was an accident but the tackle did warrant a red card. I'm not surprised by the death threats and regardless on the actual intent of Taylor, I'm still pissed off about it - it's unforgivable. If it was an accident, there was no intent so there's not much he couldve done about it. The death threats are just pathetic, taking it way too far. He's got a broken leg, ffs get a grip.
