Guus Hiddink has agreed a deal to take charge of Anzhi Makhachkala, according to Voetbal International, ending the prospect of him replacing Andre Villas-Boas at Chelsea in the near future.

The Dutch boss has been repeatedly linked with Chelsea ever since guiding them to FA Cup glory during a short spell at the club in 2009.

With the Blues struggling at present, the pressure has piled on Villas-Boas and led to talk of a return for Hiddink.

Hiddink's agent was non-committal when asked about the subject at the start of the week, but it would now appear to be off the agenda following the news he has seemingly committed to Anzhi.

The 65-year-old, who has been out of the game since failing to guide Turkey to Euro 2012, has reportedly put his name to an 18-month deal.

The Dutchman has knowledge of the game in Russia, having led the national side between 2006 and 2010.
