Most PL fans have no respect for other leagues. It's quite funny, actually.

Messi and Ronaldo are the only players to rack up crazy numbers consistently. Robben, Ribery, Xavi, Iniesta, Ibrahimovic, Ozil, Silva, Muller, Rooney, Van Persie, Sanchez, Aguero, Suarez... the list goes on. All these players have all experienced stand out seasons in their careers. Never to reach such a level of influence again. That's just football.

Unless KDB is some kind of new phenomenon, he probably won't play like this again. Not consistently that is. Those are some crazy numbers and he is really carrying that Wolfsburg side. That doesn't mean he's not a quality player. It remains to be seen whether he can keep playing at a top level. But he is genuinely enjoying a world-class season, there's no doubt about that.

Except he's not a new phenomenon. He had 10 and 10 for an atrocious Werder Bremen team. He had 4 and 4 in 8 WC qualifying games.

Now to be fair he's playing on a system that puts everything on him for Wolfsburg to score goals, but he's still dominating. He's having a Ballon D'Or type season.

I'm sorry but those kind of numbers for Werder and Belgium do not make you an elite player. I know what you're trying to say, but he has a long way to go. It takes years and years of performing at top level to make you a great player.

Wolfsburg players don't win the Golden Ball, they're not even considered. Misimovic, Dzeko and Grafite racked up outstanding numbers for Wolfsburg when they won the league. I'd be surprised if any one of them made the top 50 that year.

Remember when Mata scored 20 goals and provided around 30 assists in 12-13? Did he even make the top 20? Top 30?

There's a difference between being a top class player and being Messi or Ronaldo. All of the players you stated were top class or above. :)

Obviously KDB will not get these numbers every season, but that doesn't really matter as long as he stays important.

I'm confused. Maybe you misunderstood me but you just repeated what I said.

Also: it's important to be "in the picture" for the golden ball. Because of the whole "Haha, Mourinho was wrong to let him go!" bonanza, Kevin is getting quite a lot of attention. Let's see if he can win the Euro league. I think there are stronger teams still playing but we will see...

It's funny because Bas Dost received more attention for his insane goal streak in 2015 than de Bruyne for his entire season. People love goal scorers.

Mata won the Europa League in 12-13 haha. It didn't really help. Falcao is probably the only player to reach world fame for his EL exploits. Another goal scorer.

Do people still think this? If the Bundelisga sucks then the premier league is dumpster status and has been for the past few seasons. Performance in europe is the most accurate method of assessing the strength of a league and the Bundesliga has outperformed the EPL in Europe over the last 3 seasons.. . . . yes I know the epl has more money and TV viewership but what good is the money if the overall quality of the league, particularly the top teams, is down. Time to lay the same old unfounded rhetoric to rest.

Only Bayern Munich is of any performance measurement. Because the others are not really up there.

Bayern is the best team in the world. Dortmund played the final in 2013, and the rest of their teams perform equal to the English teams :ermm:

Yes but look at where's Dortmund right now....

The rest of the bundesliga teams don't come close to Chelsea, city, Arsenal and United.

Actually, besides the Chelsea passage, all his last seasons have been this way -bar his couple of months injury-time at Genk - he kept doing it. He bossed the league here and drives the national team. Respect [emoji8]

And Man City will offer £35M (€48.29M) this summer. But Wolfsburg has already said that even €70M won't do the job.

Do you have some inside information or are you just quoting the tabloids who are playing the guessing game?

I think certain clubs in germany are better than english, BUT its harder to cut it in premier league. Its extremely physical and has no winter break. It just burns certain players before CL elimination starts IMO:

Sure some players have qualities to thrive anywhere, but Im not sold on fact that KDB would be such a hit in England as he is in Germany, even with regular play time.

Dzeko, Di Santo, Pizzaro, Robben, etc have never performed as good in england as they did in germany.

Quality of league is one thing, difficulty is another. For example, the refs in england are more difficult (because they dont give enough fauls) than in germany, but not neccessary more quality.

Plus the fact that City for example are bottlers in CL doesnt mean they are worse than Bayer, Schalke etc. Put Wolfsburg (or whatever other team apart from Bayern) and they wont finish second or third in PL. Just wont. The physicality, judging, schedule would kill that team soon enough. But bundesleague on its own is more quality than english one, no doubt.

England has big mental problems aswell tiredness and they dont adopt to styles played in CL. We and United were only ones who coped with that, but both have taken step back recent years, United even more .

That may be true re KDB and the PL but I'd argue the sample size in the PL was far too small to render any meaning ful judgement
