Gary Cahill

I don't get why a player should be sold just because they shouldn't be in the starting XI. In Cahill's case, he can still be a decent squad player and not to mention, he fills the HG quota that we're desperately lacking.

I get the feeling Cahill is the type that wants to play. If he's not a regular, I think he'd want to leave.

If he really wants to leave, then we can't do anything about it. But from the team's perspective, we should keep him for the reasons stated.

1) Our 4th CB option is not gonna play much, not under Mourinho. We're now with 6 senior defenders yet Zouma and Filipe number of minutes isn't impressive. So if 5th and 6th option are playing only a chunk of minutes the 7th option will have even worse situation. He can stay, he can go, but situation will be very similar with both outputs.

2) He can still fetch nice sum I can imagine. So let's think that he offset half of the cost of Clyne. It's a very good thought.

3) HG situation isn't bad. You get rid of Cahill and give RLC a full time membership. Also we probably gonna sign an English goalkeeper in the place of Cech so actually the number of HG players will be increased.

True but we still need depth and we've been very lucky that our defenders haven't suffered any injuries and/or picked up suspensions this season. Not to mention, if we go far in competitions next season, we'll need players as Mourinho is likely to rotate.

Incredibly pleased for the lad, had a great game yesterday. He's earned his place back.

defended well in the air. but earned his place back? i dont think so , was decent against stoke but bad against hull and southampton. zouma did nothing to lose his place and performed against much better attackers, (aguero , sterling , kane) , unless he is required for midfield, zouma could come back in. i wouldnt trust cahill against utd's attackers. and zouma will make the team more proactive and get higher up the pitch, instead of worrying about utd the whole time, and making our defence look terrified when they come into our half.

I'd like to see Zouma in front of the defenders and Matic and Cesc just ahead of him. It'll stop us getting muscled out of midfield. If Remy is unavailable then we can put Oscar in midfield and use Cesc how Spain use him as a false 9.

Zouma

Matic Cesc/Oscar

Can we take a moment and appreciate his performance today? I've never been a fan of him but as supporters of this club we must acknowledge a player's terrific performance. He was fantastic today.

appreciate him? LOL.. never gonna happen on here.

Honestly thought he gave a penalty right at the end but thank goodness Herrera dived and Mike Dean didn't fall for it.

that was one awesome dive. even i had my heart in my mouth then.

by the way, if u reverse the roles and have cesc/oscar/hazard dive for the pen in the last minute, u can be damn sure that we would get our asses handed to us. but nothing so far in the media.
