didierforever 7,349
Let's try it again, even with the matching numbers so the chronology is perfect!DO you see the problem with #2 ?! We don't have David Luiz #4 and #5 just yet, but your #2's cannot be right!Torres:1. Liverpool signs Torres for 20m2. Torres was great for Liverpool for many seasons3. We buy Torres for 50m4. He's been awful for us (according to many)5. We cannot sell Torres for 10m unless we pay his wagesTorres LOST (a lot of) value at Chelsea!1. We buy David Luiz for 21m + Matic (say 25m)2. According to you he was awful3. We sell David Luiz for 50m making him the most expensive defender ever.David Luiz INCREASED (really doubled!) his value at Chelsea!AGAIN!!!!!U do understand that even torres INCREASED his value for pool. His "greats" seasons were twice but his decline itself had come in pool. Torres at his best may have been worth that ridiculous amount. Luiz at this moment which is supposedly the highest point of his career is not worth more than 20mil.Luiz was not AWFUL for us. No where have I said that. But 50mil for him is absolute LOL. He's 29 in December. A 4-year deal will keep him till he's 33! Not exactly in compliance with our policy for players over 30.

That one has been reported a number of times now over the past couple of months.I find that VERY unlikely. He's 29 in December. A 4-year deal will keep him till he's 33! Not exactly in compliance with our policy for players over 30. It's practically only a one year contract extension from his current one. Not sure it makes much of a difference whether he's 32 or 33 then, it's only one year. Besides, he could be a useful squad player to have next time as well as to fill up the HG quota. Yes maybe not 4, but 3 is still make sense. He is English and still 28 years old. Not that he is already 33 or something.
Popular Post! Tomo 21,751 Posted July 16, 2014 Popular Post! Share Posted July 16, 2014 This lad is the example off just how patient players have to be to make it to the top.Deemed not good enough for Villa and loaned to Burnley and Sheffield United then sold to Bolton in his early 20's, he kept plugging away and built his rep at The Reebok, eventually earning his move to Chelsea. After an up and down 18 months where his tendancy to back of players had us driven up the wall, he established himself under Jose and is now a key part off a team looking to battle out on 4 fronts next season.Moral of the story is breaking into the top level is hard, it requires hard work and a lot of blood, sweat and tears on the way, it doesn't always happen at 21. thedrog108, RoyalBlues, The Skipper and 4 others

The Rising Sun 711
He is is probably the only World class defender(english) in engand at the moment. Not that he would get into any team, but he is immense in his last minute tackling, headers and in general, i cant remember him making a mistake for a goal.Humble too. didierforever

I don't think the club is gonna strictly follow this policy of not offering contract players aged 30+. More of judging on case to case basis. Not advocating this Cahill deal to happen but I can see it happen, just probably not for the wages mentioned.

It's incentive to make those players continue to play and train at their very best. yes, the drawback is other clubs offer longer contracts but that's a risk worth taking imo. If they think he can still contribute to the team, then they'll get the contract extension. It's like how Terry, Lampard and Cole got theirs in the past 2 years or so. sdrcfc 461
I don't think he'll be Chelsea's next captain, I mean he's turning 29 at the end of this year and he'll probably retire just a couple of seasons after JT. It's a discussion for the future, but surely it'll be Courtois.

Popular Post! The Skipper 20,609 Posted July 22, 2014 Popular Post! Share Posted July 22, 2014 Shrek will be capt. More pressure on the poor guy Better captain than Gerrard still.I find it ludicrous how Gerrard managed to escape criticism for his terrible World Cup performances, like no blame was attached to him at all, whereas Rooney who was okayish got so much flack. Will never understand the love the media have for this guy. Jamie Redknapp (Liverpool bias I know but still) for example said he's 100% the best English midfielder of his generation, better than Scholes, Lampard etc... It's ridiculous.
