Oh. My. God. I miss this game so much. I haven't played in years.

My best ever save was FM 07.

Started with Chelsea. Was there 8 years and won 7 league titles including 3 trebles in 3 consecutive years. Got bored of all the winning so left for Newcastle. in 4/5 years i won the CL and thw following years World Club Cup. Left for Blackburn who were in the Championship. Won the FA Cup somehow and then got them promoted. Was at Bristol City when my computer died and i lost everything.

In all that time i also won the 2010 World Cup with England, The Euro's with Italy, can't remember what year, and took Norway to the 1/4 final of the World Cup.

Immense save that i will never ever be able to beat!

  • 2 weeks later...

Playing with Schalke. Won the League in my first season. First season i bought Ter Stegen.

Now starting my second season. Bought Wellington Nem for 18.75 million (euros), Luke Shaw for 16.75 million ( Really happy about this. Southampton relegated so he was unhappy and they had to sell him really cheap.)

Also got a back up ballwinning midfielder and a back up right back. Both on free transfers. Rode and Villagra.

Also bought a couple of regens but nothing spectacular.

Holy fuck. How are you guys so good? I just recently started and couldn't win to save my life.

Well i had a draw with Liverpool, Beat Man City, lost to galatassaray. Beat swansea. It's hard! I'm about to get fired!

Mate, go through this site : http://www.footballmanagerstory.com/ and especially this guide : http://www.footballmanagerstory.com/fm-2013-hints-and-tips-for-beginners-and-not-only/ (it's for 2013 but I'd imagine most of that would apply to 2014 as well).

Any specific problems - post here. I'd gladly help (and I'm sure others will too).

Just keep at it, really. It's a very addicting game once you get the hang of it :)

Pentathlon latest: I left Waterhouse for Argentina's San Lorenzo in December 2011. Then I left that job for Santos Laguna of Mexico in January (39 days in the San Lorenzo job until the board got mad at me declaring my interest in every job that became available and said they'd sack my whoring ass if I didn't resign). I got to the final of the CONCACAF Champions League, only to be thwarted despite dominating the second leg, losing the tie on away goals.

I see the Pohang Steelers job is about to become available...

Actually, I might give up on the Pentathlon and instead try and change clubs as often as possible in some sort of roided up journeyman save. :D

Just finished the 2018/19 season at Chelsea. In the first couple of seasons I got rid of around 20 existing first teamers while only keeping Courtois, Zouma, Kalas, Azpi, Chalobah, Van Ginkel, Musonda, Boga, Davila, Piazon as well as Hazard in the team and these were the players I decided to build my squad around. Boga, Musonda and Davila spent the first few seasons out on loan and I bought a few players like Raphael Varane, Victor Wanyama, Jonathan Silva, Jordy Clasie, James Ward-Prowse and Gabriel Barbosa to complete the squad. For two seasons I also had Ricardo Rodriguez at LB but I somehow managed to get Bale + 5m for him after the Welshman found himself transfer listed by Real Madrid. Bale has been my first choice LWB ever since. Net transfer spend is £150m in profit overall.

First four seasons I went trophyless but now I've managed to create the perfect tactic for my team and my young players took massive leaps in their development. Here are some of my highlights so far:

2017/18, quadruple:

2018/19: PL, CL, CWC treble

For some reason my CL and USC victories aren't shown here in the summary.

Nathaniel Chalobah in 2019, very Yaya Toure like player these days:

Marco Van Ginkel in 2019, perfect Frank Lampard replacement:

Charly Musonda in 2019, this guy is fucking amazing. Technical and mental attributes already better than Hazard's but physically he still has a lot of room for improvement:

Lucas Piazon in 2019, good all-around player for my complete forward role. In my quadruple winning season he scored 27 goals and got 26 assists too:

The only regen I've got so far is this guy who I bought for £2m in 2016:

Stoke, who have become a top4 club in England, just offered me £74m for him but I politely told them to go fuck themselves.

Also got a pretty good young English AMC / CF from my very own academy. Played him in 25 games last season, scored 7 goals and assisted another 9 and now I'm considering getting rid of Ulises Davila to make room for him but haven't decided yet.

On another interesting note, Sam Hutchinson has retired from the game a couple of years in and is now the chairman of Newcastle United at the age of 29. How cool is that?
