I hate how the commentators just keep going on and on about him. When JT or A. Cole do some of the things he does, they don't say anything. But when it's Luiz, they can't shut up. I know he scored and what not, but he was invisible most the game.Drogba's passes were pretty woeful I have to say.. however I don't think he's the type of player who provides, I distinctly believe he's a player who expects to get service rather than the other way around! The defenders marked him tightly what left a lot of space to Sturridge and Mata.Could it be that AVB is playing him in order to get that contract extension? He's lost a lot of his qualities but he's still putting in some effort which I'm pleasantly surprised to see.And I think Sturridge wouldn't be getting so many chances if Torres was playing instead of Drogba. And that run from which Kalou ultimately scored... the old Torres would have scored that. He showed intent and didn't sulk, we tend to say that we appreciate players who give effort... He did give it and imo his contribution was more than just the goal. Drogba was awful. And tbh his goal was a free header when newcastle when to sleep from a throw in. Other than that i thought he was crap. tmessy 139 Posted December 3, 2011 Share Posted December 3, 2011 Being a HUGE Torres supporter, I feel that maybe it is necessary for him to be on the bench for a bit, forces him to WANT to play more and make a difference rather than having things handed to him...He'll come good, you can see it...
