Very surprising stats between Cole and Bosingwa. They're so surprising I'm wondering if you accidentally swapped names? If not, then I think I need to take a closer look to Bosingwa's performances. But again, thank you very much for these stats. They are very interesting and yes, continue these blogs please!

No, I didn't swap names. And I was surprised too. Especially Bosingwa's interception numbers are staggering. Plus, a lot of these interception happens in opposition's half which I think is the result of pressing. But, on the other hand, if he mistimed an interception or tackle, the back is exposed.

I think we also have to look at Cole's defensive performances closely. The stats that is not included in the chart is Ground Tackle Loss - which for Cole is 4 and for Bosingwa 0.

Great article again :)

I was a bit surprised at Cole vs Bosingwa, but you also have to note that a lot of teams try to exploit our right side so Bosingwa having more work there is expected. For me he is a good right back, but not near the quality Chelsea requires. Still a useful player though when we play teams who park the bus or we need to rest Ivanovic.

Bosingwa's stats over Cole are indeed impressive, but marking is key, and marking cannot be put into numbers... and in that department Bos falls short. Also almost all the teams have attacked from our right side, I would be interested to see those stats with the "/attempted" comparison. And Cole's crossing is almost as bad as Jose's :D But we've had our eyes more or less shut over that because it's a common agreement that he's just simply more effective in defence.

Not that surprised with the number of interceptions Bosingwa made because he really is a good interceptor, but what's up with Cole? It almost looks as if he hasn't done any defensive work.

Thats because most of the opponents attack comes down the right. On the left they'd have to contend with Mata+Lampard+Cole+Terry
