I think the sale of Meireles is a true act of planning for the future. We are acting early to free up space for technical players. The likes of Oscar, McEacrhan and KDB. I can't help but feel we are laying the foundations for Guardiola. We could have a Technical midfield like

-------------Romeu----------

---Oscar----------Josh/KDB-

Getting rid of Essien and Meireles seems like a step in the right direction. However the club may have gotten too excited and let him go too early. We should have kept one of Meireles/Essien.

Fenerbahçe's official web site anounced that the negotiations has started with Meireles, and believe me, if that man does not come after this announcement, fans would burn the club down.

In case of an injury of Mikel or Lampard, Chelsea can count on Ramires. Also, Romeu is young but talented, he needs some chance and he can wait as a substitute.

Meireles, on the other hand; is not a player who should wait as replacement. He should play every match as a maestro.

I don't think this transfer will affect Chelsea too much, but Fenerbahce signed a key player, which it needs for a long time.

These are my opinions of course, what can you say about Meireles?

Meireles is not much more than decent. Barely good enough for a top side in the EPL but it appears he is more than good enough for your club.

The more I think about it, the more I believe this is a good move. Hopefully ramires will drop back and provide some decent passes. Marin will be back from injury and surely he'd play on the right.

Mikel and ramires/romeu/lampard seems suffice. And if injuries come in I'm sure Oscar would be able to play that sitting roll, just not the defensive part....

Di Matteo hasn't even once tried playing Ramires in the double pivot role and Romeu has played two insignificant games so he clearly doesn't trust either of them to do the job there. With Essien also gone, that leaves us with only Lampard and Mikel as serious candidates to start games and that is ridiculously light for a club still competing on five fronts, at least when considering that many of us have serious doubts over Lampard's ability to still be a key player for the team, let alone play +60 games a season. I honestly don't know what is going through the minds of the people in charge at Chelsea if we let Meireles and Essien both leave without buying anyone.

huge fan of the kdb, and i think he will be immense in midfield in years to come. pair that up with oscar seems deadly.....but for the board to have that mindset, we would buy a moutinho of some sort in jan as a lamps replacement. then the promotion of kdb and mceachran should be essien mierles replacements. i hope it pans out that way, but i just see us buying 2 amazing cms and then putting kdb and mceachran on loan again. truly hope not.

How is this even possible? The window is closed. Besides if we were going to sell Meiriles we should have at least kept Josh.

I'm not a fan of the thug but if this is true we are really lacking numbers in the middle.

The window is still open in Turkey and it doesn't matter if it has already closed in England.

He was handy to have around, but I never felt like he was Chelsea at all. There are certain players who just feel blue, and he wasn't one of them.

However; for him personally this is an amazing move.

The derby his new club participate in must be the best in the world.

His aggressive style on the pitch will have the fans falling in love with him!

their derby "the best in the world " millions would disagree with that

Meireles is a pretty decent player when he wants to be mate. He presses and passes very well at times but he just lacks focus and concentration which makes him do silly things such as take ridiculous shots or make silly passes. However when he does stay concentrated for a whole game he's a very effective player like he was for portugal at the Euros. Topal is a defensive midfielder if i remember correctly? Meireles should be able to form a good partnership with him as Topal can do all the dirty work and then leave the creativity to Meireles to pick out players like Stoch on the wing. He'll be a good signing for you definitely

for folks saying we should have sold Malouda instead.

it takes three parties to agree a deal. the buying club, the selling club and the player!

and Malouda has decided he`d rather rot for a season and collect his salary than play football.

Before everything, anyone who knows my posts saw im not one of those who criticize the club and players in every chance, and i never get panic like a lot of us are, BUT now im super pissed... you dont know whats going through their minds? they simply dont know much. Just bought lots of creative talented youngers, without even think our central midfield realy needs improvement. I would manage the transfer window better than them ffs. We have lots and lots of money, and in a summer of big spendings we are going to the new season with a midfield of Mikel, Lampard, Ramires who didnt play there and Romeo who RDM dont trust.

Tell me what do i need to think other than that they know very little? dont get me wrong, the signings that been done are great, but when you spend so much money and left out with this hugh hole in midfield? thats poor management. Thats poor football knowledge.

This transfer window could have been A LOT better. We spended so much on players, we wanted to sigh freaking Andre Schurrle for 20m, we defenetley could sign a top DM or a CM. Lets hope they'll understand their mistakes and fix it in January. Just sucks they ruin it that easily in the last week... if we wouldnt let Essien and Meireles go it would have been more understandable, not good in any way, but more understandable.

Never thought i would be the pessimistic and the one who panics in this forum.
