I've got a sneaky suspicion that we are going to make a late charge for Sanchez.

It's the kind of transfer we make. A shock bid and pay over the odds for him.

Mate, if that happens ... big IF ... The negativity for the board will just go out the window :)

We have to admit that this 'we have tons of money from TV revenue' thing is going very very bad for the Premier League.

Most money in the world, but you get to pay 40m for Drinkwater, 90m for Lukaku and none of the most 3 important players in the world (Messi, Ronaldo, Neymar, not necessarily in this order) are in this league. Neither is at least one of the top 6 teams in the world.

Get ready for one last silly day.

If you dont bring success in a specific season, you need to at the very least work towards setting up success in the following ones.
Chelsea have so far (and its almost over) done poorly this window.

Morata, Rudiger and Bakayoko will be great players for us, and so will Christensen. Together with Hazard, Kante, Alonso, Courtois, Cesar and Luiz we have a strong, stable starting eleven. The problem is that Morata is replacing an excellent striker in Costa, Baka a capable midfielder in Matic and Rudiger an ok player in Cahill. They are all either direct replacements, or slight upgrades. If we bring in Drinkwater, Llorente and Barkley then it is more of the same, i.e replacements for departing players and width. Width is extremely important, but so is trying to every season acquire one or two big upgrades on some of your players.
Alex Sandro, Mendy, Alexis Sanchez, Danny Rose and Bernardo Silva are examples of some that were available but not acquired.

Our system operates on having fresh and capable WB's. We saw how we suffered when we missed Moses or Alonso last season. A natural response to this would be to either get upgrades or width on those positions. It is also clear that Chelsea recognized this considering how many WB's we have been linked with throughout the summer by reliable sources. How is it then possible that we have not managed to secure a single WB by deadline day? If we end the window that way then we can kiss any good results this season goodbye. Fuck, we had so much time to sort this out, how is it possible that seemingly every other team managed to get ahead of us on transfers were there was competition.

L’Équipe reported in the middle of the night that Chelsea, Tottenham Hotspur and Barcelona are all in active discussions over the possible signing of the ex-Le Havre and current Leicester City winger, but that no club was close to an agreement to sign the Algerian as of late last night.

The reasoning behind Mahrez’s release by the Algerian national team is so that he can rapidly arrive in Paris this morning where he will remain for deadline day in the event that he needs to quickly travel to a possible new club for a medical and talks.

So basically, from what I've read, here's what the papers claim regarding the clubs that are linked with Mahrez:

Chelsea, Tottenham, Barca (L'Equipe); Barcelona, Arsenal (AS), Manchester United (Yahoo).

Basically, only one club is being interested according to more than one source. And that is Barcelona.

Honestly, it makes more sense that Arsenal gets him to replace Sanchez or Barcelona gets him if they can't get Coutinho.
