A lot of newspapers are now reporting that Lukaku is indeed up for sale.Would be a damn shame if he leaves and I really dont think we'll be able to get more then 15-18m for him right now.

Chelsea´s asking price is 25m.

The club paid 18m for him two years ago.

The Profit denied?

Barkley has played one game in central midfield this season. He's an attacking midfielder and that's where he plays the best. He might be able to play centrally and be effective, but I wouldn't go so far as to say it would sort out our central midfield. I like him, but I don't really see the need for Barkley on this team.

He's young and can be moulded into the deeper midfield role where Mourinho would most likely play him, but I see your point.

There are some games that guile and trickery won't win - just like yesterday. Sometimes you need a battering ram. Selling Lukaku would be even greater a mistake than selling Sturridge has proved to be.

Well we hardly had any guile or trickery against Palace so how do we know that it wouldn't work? That's exactly what we need more of in the team to provide a balance to just running at 100mph and playing counter-attack. We don't need a battering ram with sloppy technique to compound the problems.

I don't see what Lukaku could have done to open up a team like Palace. Now I bet Sturridge would have been able to create something from nothing because he has dribbling ability, touch, technique and acceleration from a standing start that creates a yard or two of space.

I know this isn't always the case, but Lukaku made 7 dribbles last match with Everton (http://www.whoscored.com/Matches/720804/Live). He might have a poor first touch, but when he's on his best (like at this very moment), he is more than a physical striker with pace.

Intelligent runs off the ball, a commitment to get into spaces for crosses, dropping off and linking the play, a better aerial threat....all the things that Torres didn't.

The guy has a knack of scoring and that's great, but he got on the wrong side of Jose. I wouldn't be surprised if he was sold.

Are you telling us, Lukaku is capable to do all that?

That's very impressive but surely that's an anomaly for Lukaku? I'm not averse to having him in the squad as I think he'd be a useful player but in my mind we need extremely technical players leading the line more than we need big physical strikers. Liverpool are currently scoring at will against teams with two technically gifted forwards. No big man, battering ram in sight.

He may be sold to fund another transfer or because he won't settle for being more of a squad player rather than first choice. Jose can be petty at times but I don't think he'd get rid of him because of a small disagreement to be honest.

We bring him back, ship out Eto, Torres and Ba and go all in for Cavani (who i think is available) or Costa. No way in hell should lukaku leave the club, we already let go of Sturridge and that was AFTER he scored goals for us and played under AVB!
