Randall 315
Had a dream last night where there was Lukaku, Luiz and someone else (someone who wants to play for bayern munich as their number 9?) and they were doing a photo shoot in shirts of their dream clubs and Lukaku was in a Chelsea shirt and I spoke to him and he said he wants to join Chelsea but when the time is right and he was worried that he'd never be as good as Drogba. A SIGN?! Probably not. Term-X

Igi26 346
@MarcoSilva11 Marco Silva Now on Chelsea and Lukaku, we received a call in the afternoon from our source at Chelsea. Roman Abramovich is said to have had a meeting in the morning with the directors and outlined his plans. He is to have said he wants the following 'more attacking football' 'Barcelona like', 'quality players', 'younger squad'. Player exits were mentionned as was Uefa's financial fair play policy. Chelsea are also in 'close contact' with Christophe Henrotay agent of Lukaku and are confident they can sign him.

termninja 5,290
Sexy football? Well that will require a manager such as Guardiola and a lot of money
Peace. 4,352
I'm not sure that Lukaku is the right man if we want to play 'sexy football' lol.
Madmax 9,219
If we're bringing Lukaku, get ready for more 'lump it up and hope for the best'. In other words, get ready for more of the same.

In other words, get ready for more of the same.I think it's best we have strikers like that so we can always adapt our play. If passing slick through balls to Sturridge & Torres isn't working to well then we can play a more physical game with Lukaku maybe. Plan B
Madmax 9,219
I think you're quite harsh on our playing style Max It was much more than long ball up to the target man, you know that.It was predominantly that, even Torres was thrown long balls to chase down. It was comical and painful at the same time. DM gets ball, passes it back, defenders muck about with it for a while, try a cross field pass for the rushing wing back, doesn't work, ball comes back, lump it up.I think it's best we have strikers like that so we can always adapt our play. Madmax 9,219
But then why has it been so successful in the years 2005-10?Frank Lampard and Didier Drogba. Both are on the wane sadly and while we don't have a replacement for Lamps, Lukaku is too young to be handed that responsibility.
DYC. 7,542
This season, yes that was the story. But then why has it been so successful in the years 2005-10?I don't think the succes of those tactics, not saying we played long ball football during '05-'10, is his issue but the fact that's it horrible to watch. You don't spend huge amounts of money and play that kind of football.
