I would hate to see Courtois leave but I really can see Barca willing to spend big on him to get him. I would not be surprised if they offered around £30m for him and I am sure our board would find it hard to resist an offer like that. It works both ways as it would be good business but on the other hand you are losing a GK talent who is up there amongst the best already and could be our no.1 keeper for the next 2 decades. Will be interesting for sure.

What will it be then? Most of us want him here but if a big offer comes along I don't think the board will swiftly reject it. I reckon they would consider it while we have a brilliant keeper as it stands.

I originally thought a rotation with Cech would have worked, but your post as well as others have convinced me otherwise; that would depend on Cech, because if he wants to make a last move to secure his retirement money, then he should be allowed to leave.

It's a very difficult situation for a big club. On one hand you've got a potential top goalkeeper for a decade in Courtois. On the other side, he's very young (esp GK) and that experience could matter at the highest stages. Letting go of Cech right now/next year could cost us short-term. Look at what happen with De Gea... yes, Courtois looks more mature for club and country, but you can't really predict anything until he starts playing week in and week out for us.

Personally, and I don't pretend to be a 100% sure of it, I'd move Cech and offer a 5 year deal to Courtois. At some point you gotta think of the club and not immediate success.

Whatever decision is made next summer, it needs to be made for the right reason's, footballing reason's. If Mourinho see's Courtois as the man going forward, then he has my backing. The last big decision regarding goalkeepers at Chelsea didn't go to badly, did it?
