  1. We don't need to play an orthadox 4-3-3. If we play the 4-3-2-1 or "The Christmas Tree" then we can have Drogba as the spearhead and have Anelka play just behind with a Joe Cole or a Deco. Anelka can play there, he did against Preston and scored. I think this could work.
  2. They have no money! Surely he has some sort of affection for them considering he was succesfull their, so why would he do that? lol!
  3. Guy's, no need to worry. Arsenal are top on goals scored, we have a game in hand against them... against Hull. United are more than likely going to win at the weekend. They will be two points ahead but we will have two games in hand. So at the minute we have the upper hand. Arsenal have a tough set of fixtures coming up including us at the Bridge, and United just don't look good enough this year. I'm not worried about what the league looks like at the minute. Let's see what it looks like at about 10 o clock on Feb 2nd. We will be 3 points clear of Arsecum and 4 clear of manure. Happy Days!! :)
  4. I don't think it's any coincidence that after reverting back to the 4-3-3 or 4-3-2-1, whatever is was, Lampard scores two goals. He also scored against Watford in the cup in the same formation. Now he hasn't exactly been scoring freely this year has he. I think this formation unlocks Lampard and gives him the licence to arrive late in the box and score the sort of goals he has done thoughout his career, both of his goals against Sunderland were because of this. Now on the flip side if we do go back to the 4-3-3 then Anelka will inevitably be pushed out wide once Drogba returns from Africa. Is this wise considering the form Anelka has been in this season? I agree with EskWeston, The good thing about this is that we can play both formations. I guess the solution is whatever Ancelotti feels the best formation is to take on the opposition. If it doesn't work out it can easily be switched. There are pro's and con's for each formation. Its just a judgement call.
  5. What would people say about Belletti and Alex maybe in the top ten signings? I'm not sure how much Alex was but he couldn't have been that expensive and i'm sure Belletti was only 3.5 million. They have both been reliable and consistent when called upon in their time here. What do you peeps think?
  6. I agree with TylerCFC, having a marketable number is important. When players like Kakuta and Borini become more established they will definately be given a more marketable number than 44 or 45 which i think Borini has. I believe that your shirt number is very much a part of modern day football. Its what you will be remembered by when you leave. Like Tyler said. Zola will forever be remembered as number 25 in the same way Terry will be remembered as number 26 and Lampard 8. Anyway, my answer to the actual question, lol! My choices would be 4. Gerrard (A bit controversial but he may leave Liverpool if they dont qualify for the champions league and he has nearly joined before) 7. Ribery 9. Aguero
  7. For me it has to be J.Cole I see people saying 7 million for Cech is a bargain, which i agree with by the way but 6 million for Joe is a bigger bargain in my eyes!
  8. Ha Ha! Classic! They slate him, slate him and slate him but they put Lamps in their team of the decade! They thought he was shit when he was their. And, he was only their for a year and a half of the noughties. West Ham fans, hahahahaha
  9. Cech Gallas Carvalho Terry© A.Cole Makelele Essien Lampard J.Cole Zola Drogba I'll have to put a bench in here because there was a few close calls. lol. Cudicini, Desailly, Melchiot, Gudjohnson, Duff, Robben, Hasselbaink.
  10. I just don't see the point in buying a new 30 - 40 million pound striker for a month! Because that is inevitably what he will be brought in for. Drogba will not be dropped and how can you drop Anelka after how good he was last season, and, this year, even though he hasn't scored as many goals he has.. in my opinion.. been better. So for me, we play Anelka further forward in the "Drogba" role and have one of the youngsters playing off him. Much cheaper, doesn't mean we buy a player who will be left on thebench when Drogba returns and most important;y it gives the younger strikers valuable first team experience.
  11. If he carries on performing like he has done this season then no thanks. Yesterday he had two corners that didnt even get nto the box because it hit the man 10 yards away! i have never seen that before. If he can recapture some of the form he had in his second year when he came back from injury then i'll be happy to see him sign for another 2 years! The only thing is... I can't see him getting that form back.
  12. Malouda can is strange one for me. It might just be me but he seems so inconsistent. He has a brilliant game one week and the next he does nothing. Is that just me or do other people see the same?
  13. HAVE!!!! to beat Fulham after today's result.
  14. Like OllieCFC says, Handy to have Drogba but i don't really care about Kalouless.
  15. I hope he does sign. I think Ivanovic is a terrific player. I hope when Bosingwa comes back he doesn't get drafted out the team because he has played very well this year. I'd have him over Bosingwa any day of the week!
  16. I think he will be too! He is a legend here and i'm sure he will get the best reception ever for a previous manager. I can't wait.
  17. And so he should be! He has been by far the most consistent player in the premier league in the past decade and the stats obviosuly prove that. Well done Lamps and keep it up.
  18. I have a horrible feeling about this game. Birmingham are the form team in the league and we are on a massive dip in form... That equals banana skin. I wouldn't be surprised if we lose the one to be honest.
  19. Couldn't agree more. I know he has only played a few games but the few games he played he has been very lively. Also the game against West Ham the other day he was very impressive. In fact i thought he was out best player and he only played 20 minutes.
  20. I think there would be one answer to that question.... Winston Bogarde.
  21. Great post and so true! We have two upcoming strikers and this is the the perfect opportunity for them to make their name. With Anelka injured and Drogba off too the ACN this is the chance they needed, a prolonged spell in the first team.
  22. Ha! Didier in the top 10 maybe but not number one, especially considering the form Ronaldo and Messi have been in the past year. And Ballack second i think you just have to laugh at really. But like the caption said.. at least you can't doubt club and player loyalty. lol.
  23. Hopefully now, Sturridge and Borini and prove they can cut it at this level. Also with Drogba leaving for the ACN they will be getting a proper run in the team and have a fantastic opportunity to show what they are about. I hope it works out well for them.
  24. I bet Ivanovic does, and i bet Zat Knight is quite please too!
