Like I said, we do lack experience in the squad and signing him just because he has won it all doesn't mean he will do well for us. I'm sure he'll be a decent squad player, but apart from that there's nothing more he provides in footballing terms, that we don't already have. It's like this-Eto'o has won it all and had we ended up with Cavani/Falcao/Lewandowski instead of him, we'd have won the League IMO. He was decent enough but not someone who provided that extra bit of something for us to win anything. The dude's our own version of Flamini and v.Ginkel is our Ramsey. Who's your pick?

Eventhough he's ex-blue and Jose's trusted guy, he offers nothing new in footballing terms. With experienced guns like Matic, Cesc and Ramires in the squad, it's the perfect stage for v.Ginkel and maybe, even, Chalobah to get some decent game time. We certainly don't need him just because he is experienced, and he isn't a stopgap either.
