It doesn't make sense - Chelsea has to let a foreign player go, not to bring one. Should Cavani arrive here, Jose will have to sell two foreign players. And frankly I can't see him shipping both Cech and Mikel in the same window and remain with Ramires, Romeu and van Ginkel as the only back up players for the CM role. Mikel might not be the best half back out there, but you know Jose will pick him over Romeu and van Ginkel at any hour of the day. Especially in the big games - and there will be plenty of those in the next season.

Bacary Sagna is in Romania these days, chilling at the Black Sea with his brother and his friends. He did an interview for a local TV station and, among other things, he said that he needed the City move because after seven years at Arsenal he wanted to move forward in his career. Wasn't the FA Cup trophy supposed to turn Arsenal into a worldwide attraction?

Good deal for Arsenal. I've seen Quintero at the U20 World Cup last year - he is technically sound, such a joy to watch. He is on the same page with James, bar the work-rate. Quintero is lazy as fuck, never helps his defence. The work rate and stamina are some aspects Wenger needs to work on if they manage to sign him.

Is There One Big Signing Left In Us?
petre.ispirescu replied to Special Juan's topic in Matthew Harding Stand
I wish I'd be English to explain this better, but I'll give it a try though. Hope you'll get my point. From what I've read, after the Lukaku move, Chelsea can spend up to €75-80m on transfers this month (August) w/o breaking the FFP rules. But if Chelsea will do such thing, then in the next transfer windows (not now!), the club will have (is forced) to sell some loanies to free up FFP space (wages plus some other FFP related stuff). Is important to know that the club won't have to sell now. No, not now, but in the next transfer windows (next winter and next summer). Don't ask me, I don't know why, apparently this are the rules. That's why the club have sent Kakuta or Bertrand on loan, instead of selling them. The club will probably send Moses on loan, too, and Marin. There is no need to sell them right now because it would mean nothing in the FFP books. Next transfer windows are important in terms of getting rid of loanies, not this one. The same thing goes for Torres too, I'm afraid. As Jose said, the deals that Chelsea have made this summer have put the club in a great position so freeing up the Torres space would not mean a big deal in the FFP books now. But it will mean a big deal next summer, when he'll free a hell of a lot of space in the FFP books (even if he goes for free!). As I said, I don't know why in order to buy this summer you have to sell in the next transfer windows (loanies especially), but apparently this are the rules. Wanted to write this in the Kakuta thread, for those wondering why Chelsea didn't sell him now. At least this is what I think - Chelsea needs to free up loanies space in the next windows, not in this one. Even if Kakuta will leave for free next summer, he'll free up space for that window. And to answer Special Juan's question, yes, I think there's one more top player to arrive this summer. -
Selling van Aanholt and loaning Bertrand is a vote of confidence from Mourinho towards Ake. He values him and hopefully he'll develop Ake into a good left-back like Alaba - they are both central/defensive midfielders turned into left-backs.

Cavani at his presser yesterday "Am I sure I will stay? I am sure I am staying, why would I not be? I am good in Paris, under contract & calm. I feel good here." "But, as I have already said, it does not only depend on the player. It also depends on the club & what is going on for them." "My position? We had some small problems with that & I wanted to deal with it. But I feel good about it now. No longer an issue."

1-0 City, Agent Slippy G with the assist haha

The thing that baffles me the most is that he wasn't even a Mourinho buy, yet he demands to be the undisputed centre forward in his team. Amazing.

Diego's runs were superb, but had to go with Matic for motm, he was on fire.
-
Chelsea is like a shark on the market. Killing it. My girl Marina is on fire. Fucking love her. And I guess these interviews from him and Jose after the move sums it up - wanted to lead the line w/o putting up a fight. Funny and ridiculous at the same time. Good riddance.
-
Ran the show from start to finish, he'll be immense this season.
-
Good for him. Good luck Ryan
-
Deserved goal. Great game for Matic, best player on the pitch

Talk about working the channels. What a beast
-
I don't know how to embed that thing, but he just retweeted Stan Collymore's tweet wishing him luck at Everton.

Or maybe Benatia. August should be fun.
-
Cech, Ivanovic, Luis, Fabregas, Torres, Van Ginkel, Salah, Costa, Matic, Cahill, Azpilicueta
-
Wallace and Bertrand Traore start for Vitesse
-
The way things are moving these days, that'll be Cech for sure. Chelsea's only hope to get rid of Torres is Simeone, but can you blame the guy if he decides not to make a move for him? Would you make a move for him? Would somebody do such thing?

Everton pc at 19:00. So this is it.
-
It was €15m plus bonuses. So yes, Chelsea have doubled their money in the end.
-
Some of you should get a fucking grip and be more positive about this. This is Jose and Chelsea board we are talking about, not a bunch of amateurs like Spurs ready to sell at the very first offer or splash the cash on every mug out there. If Jose is selling his 2nd best striker for €35m, then it means he already has something else prepared. There is no way Chelsea is selling Lukaku just for the sake of getting some extra money. I want to believe this is the money that will fund the Pogba deal. Good luck Romelu!
-
If this is the move that will fund the Pogba/Cavani deal, then why not? Get the €30m from Everton, add another €30-35m, buy one of Cavani and Pogba and let's end this transfer window on a high note.
