(says the amazing English speaker, Oscar, LOL)
-
whatever, dude. The only case the term stupid can be used in this discussion is towards me... because that's what I am if I'm willing to discuss anything this with you.
-
You still didn't get it, did you? I said take him from the score sheet, not the game, come on, there's no simpler English than that. I'm saying he influenced the match directly. Can you understand that? Can you process that level of information? We scored two goals - he scored one and assisted the other. Do you understand it? Should I have to print screen the scoreline with his name under the goal and some stats site with his assist? Tell me what you need to understand this very basic info I'm talking about: take him away from the score sheet, it's 0x0. I didn't say IF he didn't score, IF he wasn't there, IF he missed the sitter, IF he didn't start the game, IF he was subbed off. I just said his contributions made our score. I thought that was a fact, but I might need to go back to school and learn what fact is.

lolforever We didn't start strong because NONE of our players were playing well - it wasn't Oscar's privilege, although he was probably the worst of the bunch. If Hazard or Willian or Cesc had been able to make a simple pass who knows what would have happened. I don't have the crystal ball you seem to be looking at where one single pass by Oscar would have won us the match. Unless you mean the goal he did take and the assist he brilliantly did create (one only Cesc and Hazard would have pulled off (maybe Luís too) not to mention or downgrade Diego's amazing finishing. You guys can say all you want, at the end of the day, take Oscar away from the score sheet, that's a 0x0 (pay attention I'm saying from the score sheet, not the game). He made a very simple pass to score a goal when Hazard wasn't even remotely close the box (Willian was taking the corner smartly, so he was somewhere important) and Diego was double marked inside the box. Oscar was where others weren't making the very simple pass as you call it. I don't work with the level of hypothetical you did (if we started strong, if we played the Jose wanted, if Oscar made a simple pass) because then I could take a similar route and imagine if a different sperm had merged with my mom's egg I could have been a man or looked like Jennifer Aniston. Or maybe I would haven't even existed. Or maybe I could have been an hermaphrodite. Who knows?

He was horrible. If it wasn't for him we wouldn't have won. I'll stick to the three points, thanks very much.
-
he was much more like he's usual useful self in the second. It wasn't only the goal and the assist. That's completely unfair. He had a very good second half. He almost assisted Costa with the little header, he linked up with Fabregas and Hazard better and he was up there with his work rate. He should be criticized for the atrocious first half, but there's more to give him credit for than a goal and an assist. He did more than that in the second.

and how long did it take for him to find the notorious consistency? He used to be one of the most inconsistent players around. It's so easy to mention guys at their prime years and compare them to guys in development and with few years on EPL. Nasri took a long while to become the player he is. As usual patience isn't the forte between supporters. Willian might be on his peak, but he only got one season under his belt. If Nasri was playing here when he came to EPL you guys saying he's better than we have wouldn't say, because you wouldn't wait for it to happen. I agree with almost everything you said. I'm just not sure they have this small edge you said... I mean, this is an edge, but I think it's completely even out by their much more difficult schedule in 2015 compared to ours. Also both Silva and Aguero are very injury prone and Toure will miss a couple of games (most definitely against us I suppose, don't know the schedule for AFCON or chances each NT has to advance). So while their decisive players have more chemistry, they have more difficult matches that they may rely on them or not because there are high chances they'll miss way more matches than our top3 players if history is an indication (although Touré is fact). I was going to say that. We need to start winning those matches, when we play like bollocks and find a way to get three points. How many of those City won last month (without the refs help, because that is clear we won't ever have).
-
Mourinho should suck it up and just start this guy in EVERY home game maybe except City and United... We need his skills in the attack, we need someone to link up with Hazard, to offer a good cross. When he's more confident and settled I want to see him, not Iva, bombing forward in our counter attacks like a bullet. He was very good today imo, don't remember one single mistake.

Well, I think his first half was one of the worst performances I've watched from a player in a big club. Still he scored the goal when we needed it the most, and while it was a tap in, he was there. So I guess that counts a bit? I said in the live thread he needed a hat trick for the whole match performance to be considered even decent. I think he improved a lot in the second, he was firmer in the pressing, in the tackling, seemed like good, old Oscar defending (as he was quite sloppy even on that in the first). He cut off the incomplete passes and tried 2-3 times a more daring pass, one of them resulting in the assist for the second goal. The way people - at least in the live thread - completely disregarded that assist is sinful. Had it been Eden or Cesc they would be sucking their D until there was no tomorrow. It doesn't make up for the terrible first half he had, but 1) he wasn't the only one, no one, except Cech had a good first half imo; 2) we keep asking our AMs to be more decisive, to win us matches... then the kid despite having a bad technical match scores a goal and has a beautiful assist but most people disregard it. As I said, those isolated things and a few other good things he did in the second don't cancel the atrocious first half he had, but they deserve credit, although unsurprisingly, because it's Oscar, he gets nearly none.
-
hey, what about the Cesc assist? We surely need to get that, right? For a Hazard goal maybe? or gifted a penalty that would never be one
-
and that's the striker that doesn't hold up, doesn't link up, completely inept technically
-
especially when those certain some others score nearly every match he takes part - even if they're few and far apart I don't get why Mourinho refuses to give him more chances
-
beautiful assist by OScar and amazing goal by my fantasy captain Now I can breathe
-
And then Mou gets fined for calling the clear campaign against us. I wonder when we'll ever get a penalty again
-
Newcastle stopped threatening us... I like him, but he's got nothing to do with Cabella being quiet. Newcastle went quiet
-
can't blame them, we were terrible. I know people should support no matter what, but we're giving them NOTHING to cheer for
-
No, because he barely received the ball the whole first half, so I guess he was excited to touch it again? But still, should have passed.
-
who cares about deserving? We deserved better things in many matches this season and we didn't get them. We didn't even deserve the deflected goals Newcastle scored against us, so I'll take it. Oscar has been so terribly horrible that he would need to score a hat-trick for it to look like a remotely decent presentation. Shitty all around. Our midfield was shit, Willian was AMAZING with the quick corner, but other than that terrible with the final third decision as usual. Hazard hasn't received the ball enough, but hasn't moved enough either imo. We looked sloppy, frail, nervous and just infuriating...
-
Hazard was very selfish now... shoudl have passed to Willian quickly after he received...
-
Thank you, OScar, but you've been shit all around Great vision by Willian with the quick corner though.
-
Azpili off, blessing is disguise maybe because we need a better attacking FB now
-
DIEGO YOU HAVE TO SHOOT THAT!!!!
-
Between Oscar and Willian today I don't know who I want to kill or who will lead me to suicide. They've been atrocious
-
bloody frustrating
-
Azpilicueta isn't on his best today and hasn't been in a few recent matches...
