The moment Mourinho doesn't ask Cesc to be more careful against stronger sides, and gives him the same freedom he has against the average ones, he'll perform better. But there's always the fact that better teams also have better defenders, who'll try to bully him and neutralize him as much as they can. I think it depends more on Mourinho's instructions of his job rather than the opposition marking him out of the match. He played very well against City imo - and it seems Mourinho was very clear about he wanted from him... and that wasn't much related to attacking.
still most of his assists came from set pieces, didn't they? I suppose from FK. I don't remember how many stats he had while here... I'm positive Cesc will have more though
even not fit yet, he makes our attack all much more lively. He's always moving, looking for the pass, making himself available. His attitude is as good, if not better, than his quality to score goals. That's why he's important for us.
in the pitch, there are a lot of moments during celebrations that they're hugging each other, being playful, and bonding. They do seem like good friends, even though Oscar can barely speak English, lol
not true at all. Many of his corners and free kicks were good/dangerous. Some of them turned into assists. He had a bad game set piece wise against QPR, but he's been good imo.
Another assist for him... the way he carried the ball and passed it to Oscar was pretty nice. There were 3-4 players surrounding him, but none could stop him from passing to Oscar. I think all in all he had a good match, but he seems less incisive than in the beginning of the season. And now we have lovely international matches...
I feel accomplished This thread been quite for days, but better quite than the kind of busy it's been since the United match. Cesc is going to be rested today, let's see if there's any impact in his game. And then off to the horrendous international break. I wish international breaks ceased to exist.
