  1. It's getting to the stage where him staying would be the better option (thinking short-term i.e. next season) I said this before but if Sarri comes in mid way through pre-season, no way are we just suddenly going to click in to a possession based team and challenge for the title.
  2. Yea I understand from Conte' point of view, he's got to do his job, im talking more from the clubs perspective, if the board don't want him as manager next season, why hasn't he been sacked already? I don't buy all this back-up just in case Sarri falls through nonsense, weather we get Sarri or not, if Conte is not in the future plans, he needs to go.
  3. But there is no explanation as to why he is still here and ready for pre-season training lol.
  4. We can't rule out him staying, the real question is why would the club allow this to happen if things behind the scenes are as bad as made out. I'd be happy with Conte to stay if all the issues were put to bed, its too late for that though. If money is the real reason he hasn't been sacked yet, he should be gone, simple as that. Even if you look at it from a business view, we save money by not sacking him but just end up having another bad season next year... its going to cost more than 9million or whatever the fee is, surely the club can see that.
  5. Like it or not, he's one of our best players. Everyone who wants him out, who do we buy with £50m that will be better for us than Willian over the next couple of years.
  6. So... maybe it's Conte to stay after all. Meaning Willian and maybe a few more of our best players out, Conte just turning up because he is contracted to do so and the board to sign some cheap replacements to fill numbers. possibly in for a worse ride than last season.
  7. This is getting ridiculous now, even if Sarri does come, which i'm now really starting to doubt, people are expecting this guy to come in mid way through a pre-season and suddenly transform our play, an appointment like Sarri will take some time, a full pre-season is a must. Absolutely pathetic, a move like this will cost the club much more than £9m if we have another bad season.
  8. Not sure what to make of that though, of course they are going to follow the clubs orders. If it was Conte calling them in on Saturday but they didn't turn up till Monday then we may have a something to talk about.
  9. I don't think we've got to worry about Kante , can't see him going anywhere. Unless our board smell $$
  10. Very true man but that's just it, First Season we had Pep Conte Season 2 we had Jose Conte That City game was terrible, but I think that was just his way of pointing things out to the board, it's probably unprofessional for a manager to do that but I suppose we will never know why so it's one of those. I do think though, if the board backed Pep Conte more he would have stayed, thats just my view, I always support the club over managers, but with this fiasco its difficult for me, its taking way too long.
  11. 100% agree with you but I just wish we were judging a normal season, would this have happened with the fire Conte had in his first season? and where/why did that fire go? You saw him up and down the touchline, hyping up the fans etc, it just all disappeared after the transfer market it seems. I'm trying to see if from the clubs perspective as well and that we need to move forward, but for me at least, it's hard to see any of this as positive, if he's not in the clubs plans, he should be well gone after the FA Cup.
  12. You gave 3 examples, how many other big games were there in those 2 seasons. What more should he have achieved? I disagree that he didn't come remotely close. His first season was brilliant, 2nd season neither him or the players were really in it with so much going on, you could just tell he didn't have that same spark from the first season, we don't know for a fact who is to blame for this and I agree it could have been handled better. I can't see Conte sticking around either but if that's the case, why is he still here?
  13. I'm surprised it's not been mentioned a lot more but Conte said in his interview after the FA cup that he wanted to play better but felt he had to play this way against top opposition to win, that tells me he didn't have full confidence in the players so had to adapt, he said that when we opened up against good teams, we ended up losing the games. He obviously wasn't being backed in the market, this is where it all started going sour. If you want Alex Sandro and end up with Zappacosta for example, this is what happens.
  14. You used an extremely bad example, from your perspective i'd be saying I want Tibo out because he supports another club but Jack Butland is a Chelsea fan so get him in!! .... NO, please read what I said properly and don't just take out bits. I'm also not saying every player must be willing to die for the club they play for, I mentioned love for the club in this case because he has been here since a teenager, he's not someone we signed last year. he came here , at the age he did, because we wanted him to be our next Petr Cech, he isn't going to be that, so why keep him. Have we ever had so much uncertainty over 1 player in recent years? The blokes in the papers every season saying he wants to go!!! Please either agree or disagree with my post, don't just take a small quote and try to make something different from it. seems like your fishing.
  15. We signed this guy when he was a teenager, if he has no love of passion for the club now, he never will. He doesn't motivate players when things are going wrong, he does the opposite and sulks. Every year he is saying he wants to go to Real Madrid... do Real even want him? do we know this for a fact? IF Real Madrid come knocking for Tibo, it's not because they think he's the best in the world, it's because he's in the last year of his contract and is cheaper than other options. As long as we don't go all in for Butland with the money and invest/show some ambition (I.e. The Alisson rumour) then him going doesn't bother me in the slightest.
  16. I'm sorry I just don't rate him that highly, he's been nothing but a consistently average keeper for me, not saying he's bad or terrible, he just does the job he should.. the hype was due to us thinking we had a stable keeper for the next decade, instead he's in the news every year saying he wants to go to real madrid. He's never had a standout season with us, compare with De Gea who's had many and won half the trophies.
  17. Agreed, while i'm not disputing the situation with Sarri could be complicated, hence why it's taking so long for the "appointment".... Sarri or no Sarri, If Conte is not in the clubs plans for next season then there is absolutely no reason why he is still here, other than our board trying to do things on the cheap. Absolute joke. Even if they were keeping Conte as a back up in case we can't get a replacement in (very doubtful I know, but im trying to think from the clubs point of view and be optimistic), this wouldn't work, it would be a repeat of last season, unhappy players, no motivation etc
  18. Tibo will go for peanuts, he’s on his last year and isn’t looking likely to sign a new deal. Honestly, if he were half way through a contract and commanding 60m+ fees I doubt many clubs would be interested (unless Belgium win the World Cup lol)
  19. It's a bad time right now, we have fans getting excited by twitter rumours that we are going to massively outbid Real Madrid for a goalkeeper, yet we don't even know who our manager will be next season. I would love to believe these rumours but we all know it's not going to happen. I hope I am eating my words in the next couple of weeks.
  20. Hate to say it, but this seems more likely than our 70m+ euro bid for Alisson.
  21. No doubt. If this is true, it would be a massive statement from the club but we've been penny pinching for a while now, all of a sudden we are massively outbidding Real Madrid ?
  22. Living in dream land unfortunately, while this would be a big statement from the club, I can't see it happening. We are not the kind of club that is going to be doubling the world record transfer fee for a goalkeeper. I would love for us to get this over the line and get rid of Tibo after his antics the last couple of years, he's just not that good. While I like the fact "important" players can maybe persuade the board to invest more, our future is up in the air partly because of him. I don't even think he'll end up at Real, only reason people are sniffing around is because he will be cheap.
