No coincidence that as soon as Oscar goes off and we give Mata a more free role that we start creating more chances. Did help that we had two strikers but he was so good with one touch passing and releasing the ball quickly in the Southampton half. Hopefully Mourinho finally sees the importance in Mata.

He has been working with the squad for five months and he seems to have no clue on how to play except for playing on the counter attack and relying on other teams to make a mistake. He is running out of excuses.

I always thought that the appointment of Mourinho was a marriage of convenience rather then this divine plan from the stars as some people like to put it across. The last couple of years we have been buying players intended to mold us into a team suited for playing a more attacking style of football. And if reports are to believed (and it does seem true) that we were hell bent on appointing Guardiola and possible others like Klopp. When those failed and because Mourinho was the only one high profile manager that was going to be free in the summer that this reunion was made. And as other members have said its showing in our performances,with some of the players we brought looking rather subdued and confused on what they are suppose to do,

What about Mikel, Ake, Essien?Considering how poor Lampard has been you might as well give them a try and see what happens. But they hardly get a run of games but Lampard is constantly picked. And considering that we lack width and rely on our full back for it. Then Ivanovic must do better in attack. But evertime he gets the ball are attack stops dead. We have a fantastic RB who does that in Azpi and if Ivanovic can't do it then he should be put at CB where he is actually suited for. We are being very inconstant on who should be picked and why they should continuously keep getting picked no matter what their performances are like.

Its shoulder to shoulder though, and before contact is made Ramires is already tumbling down by tripping on his feet. Put it this way, if this had happen at the West Brom end then it would never, never be given. Home advantage played a huge part in the decision.

Then what about the likes of Lampard, Hazard being absolutely clueless on the ball or Ivanovic killing off every attack we make because of his useless abilities on the ball when trying to cross it? How is that not considered dragging the team down yet Mata is the only one who picked out for this? While Hazard and Lampard both play again today and again both are either under par or pure crap. Again, selective favoritism

He spends 2-3 games on the bench and not used until he is either subbed on for the second half and shows what he can do (Tottenham) or shows what a footballer he is when we play in the league cup (Arsenal). And then in the next match even though Hazard and Oscar don't play well as well with Mata (e.g Newcastle) its Mata who gets dropped yet Oscar and Hazard can have 2-3 below par performances and not get dropped. I just can't help but find selective favoritism from Jose even though apparently he is taking the stance of play one bad game and you get dropped..

You would think that the amount of times we look absolutely clueless on the ball and have no creative play going on. You would think that the guy who can actually create a killer pass would be given at least a couple of games to show what he can do (since the likes of Hazard, Lampard and Ivanovic can have 2-3 crap games yet still get picked). Oh wait, its because he is 5 ft 7 and is much better when he has a more free role on the pitch, so Mourinho has decided not to like him and not use him properly.

One thing is for sure. No one should ever take notice and just laugh when Mourinho tries to play the "everyone is against us and nothing goes our way with officials" card.

I was really pleased by the performance of Cesar. Shows what a classy and consistent player he is and why I don't agree by some who say we overrate him

Tonight showed how much of a classy player he is. In a unfamiliar position at LB and he completly bossed it . Hardly anything went behind him and even though he was disadvantaged by being played on his weak side made great link up play in the final third and help stretch their defense when we had the initiative. Something an actual full back can do instead of a CB that's being put there. He must play regularly.

I honestly would like to see him be given a run of games in the pivot. He can't be bad as some of the other players that have been put in that position and everytime he has played for us I have been impress, even if it was just in cup games. Of course since he is not a 30 year old he will not be considered because of his 'lack of experience' even if the supposedly experienced players are playing like crap in the pivot.

But that means a complete disregard for form of an individual player. And its not like Ramires and Lampard are only central midfield option. We do have Mikel and Essien, and even some young promising players like Ake that can fit in there. If Lampard is playing shit you drop him and try something else, and this is not an isolated incident, but a few matches this season he hasn't really showed up. So try something else, surely that should be a given when managing a team that anybody can understand?

Well Jose is the one who keeps picking him all the time. Yet other players seem to be the ones who get dropped at random (e.g Schurrle), its seems weird that Lampard never gets the same treatment.

Why does he start week in, week out? My theory that he has a secret love affair with Jose seems to look like it might actually have some substance.

Hopefully the Ramires and Lampard partnership ends for good. Unfortunately Jose will probably use it again next week.
