  1. But the problem is that do you need a very expensive acquisition (Willian) who will be expecting plenty of first team playing time while competing with other expensive buys (Hazard, Mata, Oscar ect) who will also want playing time meaning some may very well not be happy and cause friction in the dressing room. Or have someone like Moses who in comparison cost pittance, is a hard worker, versatile along the attacking three (and as a striker) and is happy to be a squad player for us?
  2. We could of had this guy being a very useful squad player for us. Instead we let him go so we can pay £30 million pound for another attacking midfielder that we absolutely did not need, just for the sake of satisfying Jose's fetish for spending money, and to a rival as-well. This club really does baffle me sometimes.
  3. I loved his energy and dynamism. Gave Baines a really hard time before he was subbed off. Just a shame his finishing is, putting lightly, a bit naff.
  4. My train and thought has always had been that the league this season should (theoretically) be for us to win. No doubt played hugely to the fact that Ferguson is no longer the manager of Manchester United, who also have not really strengthened this season (and last season won the title because so many below them were very inconsistent) while Man City seem to be in some sort of limbo along with Arsenal. To me we have a good squad that should be able (if managed correctly) win it.
  5. I have to disagree. In the last two years we have spent a massive amount of money, sure some players that we certainly did not need (Willian) and others that we did need but for whatever reason did not try and acquire (a central defender, a deep lying and a world class striker). But after the end of last season we seemed to have a team that could go to distance. With players like Mata, Hazard, Cesar, Ramires, David Luiz and Oscar all establishing themselves in the first 11 and have already help us win trophies (FA Cup, Champions league and Europa league) all the while developing an identity of what type of football we play. And throughout the summer Jose kept insisting that we would become a side that should be able to win the Premier league and obtain some sort of dominance from his usual cocky manner (the mocking of our Europa league title for instant). So I do think the high expectations that some people have can in some ways be justified (I certainly think that Jose has to win the Premier league this season to justify the hype and commotion he has caused. However, judging from the first five games this season I do have serious concerns on what Jose is trying to do. Going back to the players in my previous paragraph and the identity that they were creating seems to be in complete conflict with Jose. As it seems that Jose only wants to go back to the football we played last time he was here, that being the score only 1 or 2 goals and try and play a defensive compact type of football based purely on counter attacks. Yet this type of football does not suit the squad we have, with many players preferring having the ball at their feet and playing a more attacking type of football. It even contradicts what Jose was trying to project during the summer of carrying on what we were doing last season while also using young talent. Yet so far the likes of Lampard and Terry have been a vocal point of the squad despite their age and the likes of Van Ginkel and De Bryune have not seen much playing type and Lukaku (who Jose kept bragging would play a huge part of our season) got shipped of on loan. While players like Mata and Cesar seem to have been put down the pecking order because they seem to not fit with the type of team Jose wants. Hence seeing situations like Ivanovic at right back even though he should only be playing in central defense and playing incredibly defensive football against the likes of Manchester United, even though they are have not really strengthened and don't have the influence of Ferguson, when its clear that this squad is not built for that. While it is right to say that it still early in the season and that things do change. I do think we are seeing big contradictions between what our squad is built for and what Jose wants the squad to be.
  6. Is there any point of England qualifying for the world cup? Just saves us time.
  7. What is it with us and giving out players to rivals? Doing it due to feeling pity?
  8. So I was wrong about Essien. I was certainly right when I thought that he would try and accommodate Lampard into the team despite him having a number of faults, and it has shown in the last couple of matches where he can't hold up the ball, can't retain possession and yet Mourinho still persist with him. I also seem to be right with Mata since he barely has played him and Jose seems to not want to use him the correct way. Of course I seem to remember every one speculating on players after Jose's arrival, many having a whine about certain players. You bring up Essien, you can't certainly talk when it comes to saying things over and over again, dragging them out and doing nothing in those comments except insulting players. Just looking at the Fernando Torres thread you can find so many post by you that pretty much say the same thing such as this: And you pretty much say the same thing over and over again. Nice try having a go at me on this. And so many times I post something, that does not use provocative language then people like you pop up and try to start an-argument because you've decided that since I may have said something negative then you have to try and silence it. Hypocrite
  9. So you might as well and say that to about 70% of the members here who like to how a moan and slag off some of the players, particularly after we lose a match. And it does not change my view that some people here just don't like to see anything that is not 100% praise and admiration of all things Chelsea and want to silence anyone who dare think something differently about certain aspects of the club.
  10. Yes I remember that run in. You were not exactly an example of clean, polite conversation. I seem to remember you posting provocative posts which could be interpreted as trying to agitate and cause a slagging match. And if saying anything negative, no matter how constructive, because you don't think something is be done in the right way; then we might as well rename this forum as The Chelsea and Jose appreciation society and ban anything that is remotly negative.
  11. Most of the time when I make a post, you immediately criticize me for being "different" as some sort of way to try and belittle my opinions just because they are different. You problem is that you don't like anybody criticizing Mourinho and seem to follow what my original post was about members holding grudges against others. That is the whole point about my concern. Anyone who believes in something that is different which therefore reflects on what they post, is to people like you something that should be silenced. You certainly don't have to agree with different opinions, you can certainly can explain why you don't agree. But there is many cases here where people don't want different opinions being displaced simply because someone has the audacity to say it. So much for 21st century enlightenment.
  12. You've just basically proved my point ,someone who seemingly does not like someone else having different opinions and want to put it down. And don't try and act like some sort of angel. You have shown plenty of times aggressive behavior and a need to throw insults yourselves, which leads to the other acting aggressive as a response. This is getting quite sad.
  13. After being bothered about this for a year and a half I feel its gotten to a point that I need to speak up about this, and I do this with the knowledge that some will accuse me of whining and self promoting my interests only. But I do find that this forum is becoming increasingly and increasingly hostile to what one might see as minor opinions and those that differ to what might be seen as the consensus of this forum; and that members are displaying more and more behaviors of that to a religious cult in that many on here seem to think that only there opinion (that is seen as the norm) can be expressed and that anything else is unacceptable and needs to be shot down . In fact its quite disturbing that a number of people on this forum seem to have quite primitive and tribal like behaviors when they read someone's post that they do not agree with. Instead of saying in a civilized manner that they don't agree with the opinion, they seem to instantly want to result in personal attacks, low-brow sarcasm and attempts to push down the poster as being stupid for simply having a different opinion on a number of issues on this forum. And while I feel its becoming a big problem here since the last year and half, it seems that since June its becoming more and more absurd as much more aggressive behavior is being displayed. Some members seem to hold personal grudges against others and continuously try and pick fights and start flame wars all because they disagree with a number of issues and feel that its there sense of duty to start another fight in some absurd attempt of trying to silence the other. Which then leads to the other themselves becoming aggressive which leads to even more tensions. Its quite worrying as someone who has been in student politics discussions (which are often very polarized and can get quite aggressive themselves) which still retain a sense of respect and decency in their conduct. It does not reflect well on the modern Chelsea fan (or indeed the modern football supporter) as a intelligent and accepting 21st century person if they can't stand it that other Chelsea fans may not agree with (for example) the manager or what he decided. Or the performance of a player and whether he should be in the team or not. And while it may be natural that more people who support a football club may be drawn together on a consensus, I find it disheartening that anyone who thinks differently on this forum must be seen as some sort of enemy and need to be bashed just for the fact that heir opinion may differ. I will leave it at that.
  14. And that was a completely different case. Back then we did not have a good team. Today we do have one that should not be performing like its scared of the opposition and never be able to control the game. Back then we were full of aging players who had seen better days. Today we have some of the best talent on offer. And even back then a good part what happened was due to good luck. But tonight showed that you can't always rely on luck on your side to win matches. Again another person with tribal like behavior who has to pick a fight with someone because they can't stand other people having a different opinion
  15. Most of our counter attacks did nothing except give us possession for a few seconds. And from what I saw in the first half in that goal was Bayern creating plenty of chances that were not coming to any fruition because of some good defending (which sis never 100% guaranteed to stop them scoring) and some woeful finishing by some of their players. God you the caveman, looking at the way you type and your primitive and tribal like behavior you have to any opinion you don't agree with.
  16. But most counters hardly push Bayern up the pitch, which meant we hardly every had control of the game and in the end we conceded. And that is what I did not like about Jose's tactics, which is what I have been posting on this forum in so many different ways. But you just want to pick a fight to fulfill your primitive existence.
  17. Judging the way you type on a keyboard I could swear you're mentally deranged.
  18. I don't mind if we want to be defensibly cautions against great teams. But if you want to starting closing the game down when we are taking the lead. Make sure you up by 2 goals instead of one. Because doing it when just one up is so risky in my opinion and as shown by this match can easily go wrong.
  19. You really are thick aren't you? Are counter attacks after the first goal were mostly useless because hardly anyone would join them. We become so concerned about trying to finish the game at 1-0 that most of the time we would have only had a couple of players up the pitch, who would then lose possession and then we would be spending another 10 minutes trying to stop Bayern scoring a goal. With no attempt to push them up the pitch to give us a bit of relief. By all means defensively cautions against great teams. But with the quality of players we have in the squad and the amount of money we spent on them, you have to be kidding me to tell them that they must try and close the game at 1-0 despite so many variables that could lead to us conceding and rendering that tactic useless. That is my opinion Christ on a bike I'm losing what ever remnants of faith in humanity I have..
  20. That happened only once. And most of the time when we countered most did not push up to give support so when the counter attack failed we would all be pegged back in our box. You can have a counter attack and have more then 3-4 players, its all about letting more players be able to push up front which is more difficult when they are pegged in their own penalty box. Idiot.
  21. Most of our counters led to nothing, because there were hardly enough men in the pitch to create chances. At best we were relying on half chances and hoping the defense would make a mistake, not the best way to get the important second goal.
  22. Never claimed too. Its you that tries to barge in everything and think you god's gift to knowledge on everything in the world.
  23. And most of those crosses only had 1 or 2 players in the box with not much chance of a Chelsea player connecting to them.So in a sense they were half chances most of our players where in the other half playing out the closing down the game tactics. After the first goal it was pretty much Bayern on the front foot with only a few breaks of us trying to pull off unsuccessful counter attacks. You really have a hard time processing this.
