  1. Its funny but Mikel tends to get good statistical scores when it comes to tackling and passing but thats seen as not important when judging him, but here we will use it to prop up Lampard. And about his passing, how many of it was successful how many of them created key chances or build up key chances. Because watching the game you could clearly see him struggling to keep up with Villa's pressing game and for all of his tackling he seemed never to help Ramires with trying to win the ball in the midfield. And that wasn't even (imo) his worse games. Man City away just shows you how easy it is to pick him off the field.
  2. Did he? I seem to remember him being part of the back 4 that conceded 5 to Barcelona, not to mention letting in stupid goals in other games. I remember his last season for Chelsea, I think everybody on this board was demanding he be forever dropped and make way for Alex. It was clear for most that he was declining yet Mourinho took him. Same again with Essien, guy has no kneecaps and for some reason Mourinho wants him, and no way improves the team.
  3. Apart from games when we lose and he has been dreadful again. He is by definition a midfielder and he has to contribute more to other aspects of the team, we do suffer in many games because we don't have a player that can take his place and actually control the midfield for us. Sure if you desperately want him to be a sub player, but that will never happen under Mourinho.
  4. Because I have the audacity to think that aside from goals, Lampard's efforts as a midfielder has been shit this season?
  5. Well that's really how he starts with a club. Gets them to have 100% never ending loyalty with the players he has, which has the unfortunate consequence that when he leaves they become almost unmanageable for anyone who replaces him. He failed miserably with Madrid with that and the way he reacted to it is cringe worthy. I would hate it even players like Mata start developing huge egos like Lampard and Terry and make life difficult for other managers once Mourinho leaves again (and don't think he will stay here for the long haul, the guy can't stay at a club for more then a year before getting in fights with someone)
  6. Took him a year and half before he dropped him, and even then only when he got injured and others perform better. Expect him to try and stick longer with Lampard even though he clearly should only be used as an impact player for next season
  7. I don't base my opinions on what other people think. You seem a bit miffed that I have the audacity not to follow what you and others are thinking. I'm guess your going to spout drivel that I'm not a 'proper' Chelsea fan
  8. Couldn't give a fuck if he broke the record.
  9. Mourinho is a guy that uses emotions to try and get everyone on his side, and now his going back to a squad with a few players who never seem to care about any other manager apart from him. Its going to be like some stupid old school reunion trying to relive old times.
  10. When he was in his prime, but in his last couple of years with us I remember people on this board moaning about ho much of a liability he was and demanded that Alex was first choice CB with Terry. Remember he is going back to a club he worked with for the first time and will have a squad with a few players (Lampard, Essien) who seem to have a never ending hard on from him.You seen Lampard arrogantly claim how much he would love Mourinho to come back. Because he knows he will basically be the focus of the teams tactics again out of blind love and sentimentality
  11. He is a midfielder (and one who supposedly is being played in a deeper position), he is suppose to help the tempo of our play, get the ball to the attackers no matter how much pressure the opposition is putting on us and spray play around the pitch. As soon as the opposition put even the slightest pressure on us he goes anonymous, and often the likes of Mata and Hazard drop deeper and deeper to get the ball back because Lampard does not do it often. Before Benteke's sending off he, like so many times this season, was nowhere to be seen ,not helping Ramires with trying to get the ball back (I won't blame him for Ramires' red card, but he could have done a lo lot better in trying to get the ball back) and was awful in passing the ball (basically just lumping it up the pitch and hoping it would meet someone). If we want to win the title next season Lampard should be playing as impact substitution at mot. But its likely that Mourinho will try and base the team round him in vain attempts to repeat the last time he was here, meaning that the likes of Mata and hazard being compromised because of this.
  12. I hope so too, but I really do fear him coming back will be like some snooty old boys gentlemen club reunion. Remember his is the first time he will be retuning to club he once managed, and there is the phrase 'never turn back' that springs to mind, especially for a manager that uses players emotions to try and win trophies.
  13. Admit it, Lampard would not have broken the record if it wasn't for the likes f Hazard and Mata creating chances and bailing him out for some dire performances in the midfield. I mean, even in the fucking game where broke he record it took until the second half to get going. Before Benteke got sent off and Vila got scared shitless and dropped off Lampard was one of the worst players on the pitch.
  14. When he brought Carvalho to Madrid it took him about a year and half to realize that he is no longer the player he once was and a defensive liability, before finally dropping him and getting a much tighter defense. I can see him spending months trying to play a 4-3-3, putting Essien and Lampard there in the faint hopes tat he might get the same midfield when he was first here, all the while pushing Hazard and Mata out wide when clearly they perform much better in a 4-2-3-1 where they have a more free role
  15. His played nearly 50 games this season and and would have played more had he not been out for 3 months, he pretty much been used a first team player by Benitez. In fact Benitez has pretty much tried to to accommodate the team for him. He still scores but there has been quite a few games where he has been absolutely shit (Man City, QPR etc) and has had to heavily rely on the likes of Mata and Hazard to get goals yet does nothing else in the midfield unless the opposition compeltly backs off in their own half and give him all the time in the world on the ball. Its going to be nauseating watching Mourinho try and set the team around Lampard again. in the hopes of reliving the glory details.
  16. Its going to painful watching him try and base the midfield around Essien and Lampard, and force the likes of Mata and Hazard out of their preferred psoitions in order to make way for those two.
  17. Great, now that Jose seems to come back expect him to try and force both Lampard and Essien into the midfield and move out Hazard and Mata from their natural positions. One who can score but is crap at everything else in the midfield and another who is crooked and can barely run without injuring his kneecap.
  18. The problem is that apart from a couple of players such as McCarthy and Gomez, Wigan have not got the squad to play the high pressing passing game Martinez wants. His (imo) one-dimensional managerial style with a god awful defense meant that their luck was going to run out eventually. Moral is its fine if you want to play in a style that emphasis passing and possession, just make sure you know what players to get. Martinez to me comes across as terrible in the transfer market.
  19. They have nothing to play for now they are safe. Will just want the season to end. Expect Arsenal thrashing.
  20. And this shows why Wigan are not a premier leage team. You can't not start the season in April all the time and always expect to survive relegation.
  21. The problem was that despite his recklessness yesterday he was probably the only player in the first half trying to do something with our play. Ba was anonymous, Hazard and Mata were in a daze, Lampard wondering around the pitch like a lost puppy and Moses unable to trap a bag of cement that had been stuck to the ground. Ramires was the only one trying to break up their play (if doing a bit of shit job at it) It was only when Villa had a man sent off and they lost all sense of composure that we were able to do anything with our play. Laregly down to Hzard who managed to realize what to do with the ball once he got it.
  22. Once Benteke was sent off and they had to retreat their pressing game on us Hazard was absolutely magnificent. And even though all the talk and praise will be on Lampard, without Hazard (and Mata) the club and Lampard would have been talk about in very different lights, the club may well not have been in the Champions league slots and Lampard would certainly not have broken the record without Hazard (and Mata). We are really going to struggle in the final without him, Benfica play a good pressing game and we would really need someone like Hazard to break it up with his energy and drive. My player of the season since January has been Mata, but now I'm wondering whether I should change it.
  23. Benitez please take off Moses and Lampard, by far the most useless players. Bring on Luiz and Oscar. But no, Lampard has to break the record so we are going to keep him on.
  24. Ever since the Manchester City transfer saga where (to me) he basically blackmailed the club to give him much bigger wages or leave I tend to go a bit green in the face when people cry out that he is 100% Chelsea or he breathes Chelsea.
