Well since some people are so keen to 'debate' with me (although more like trying o stop me from expressing myself) that I have no choice but to respond to them)
-
I prefer Klopp because he builds teams that are always competitive. Not like Jose who I have always seen as someone who builds short term teams that once he leaves, are difficult to manage with players who think they should run the club themselves which meas that the team stagnates in some seasons as nothing gets done. You might say that we still won some trophies (even if we only have won one PL sine he has left), but Inter are prime examples on how badly it can go. I have already said this, its you who does not seem capable to read them.
-
I will point to what you said in a previous post So how the hell are we supposed to move on if he leaves if you basically said that Chelsea is epitomized by Jose. Do we have some mysterious person who we can replace him that is us if he leaves? Since you seem to insist that we need a manager that is somehow "us". And you like to make out I just prattle things that are not "worthwhile observations"
-
Mainz are not a top club, a lot of their history has been spent going between he first and second tiers of German football. Actually they spent most of the 90s and early 00s in the second tier.It was Klopp that got them promoted twice under his tenure and laid the foundations for them to at present) to be a regular presence in German's top tier. That comparison you made is useless.
-
We shall see, but the basis of his success so far has been based on short term boots for quick trophies and then leaves once the steam starts to run out. I don't think he will change that.
-
And apart from those two balls, it was the likes of Ramires doing the hard shifts to perfection to keep the likes of Barca at bay. As seen in this season Lampard has a tendency to struggle against fast plying opposition, bus that's an argument for another day. We were winning fucking trophies before he came to us, and it was not just simply him coming in and creating the club. It took years and years of the likes o f Gullit, Vialli and Ranieri making us competitive on the European stage (we had already won tiles likes the FA Cup and Cup winners cup before that). Yes Jose has undoubtedly played a part for where we are, but to give him all the credit is in my mind short sighted. Fuck it if were not Ranieri getting us Champions league when we were possibility about to go out of business, then we would not have Roman buy us and subsequently Mourinho. But like I said there are so many negatives about Mourinho, and I prefer someone like Klopp because (even if did no last for more then 3 years) he seems to be able to build teams that don't so easily go over the boil once he leaves them. The opposite of Jose.
-
And again, I'm going to answer this question. What will the likes of you do when he leaves again? You seem pretty adamant to make it look as though the club is Jose and that we need Jose or we are nothing without him. Is that really healthy to do it with a manager who is volatile and can't stay at a club for more then 3 years? Honestly ts supporters like you that get piss me off because you basically have ridiculed the club as nothing more then Jose's thing, talk about belittling a club that has existed for over 100 years and has had its highs and lows. But I guess you will just prattle along about what I say is not "worthwhile observations" because it does not conform to your beliefs. If you get so wound up then don't reply t my posts, or are you so sensitive that you simple have to respond to what I say to make you feel a bit better.

The only two players who in my mind played an integral part to us wining it were Cech and Drogba. By that time it was Mata, Ivanovic and Ramires etc. who were part of that core that helped us win the CL, if you're going to point to specific players.
-
We won the CL five years after he left.By that time we already had players like Ramires, Mata, Ivanovic etc who were integral to us winning the Cl as well (Lampard's role had decreased, Terry almost cost us, Cech and Drogba were in reality two players that were integral), although you might as well give Ranieri credit for bring 3 of those players in. Yet there were so many times after he left that they played absolutely shit and made life hell for other managers to control because of the big egos he created. Really not looking forward to that again.
-
We were mainly talking about how he leaves clubs in a mess when he leaves. If he wanted to talk about spending then he should have pointed it out.
-
Chelsea, Milan, Madrid. 3-1 unfortuantly.
-
But what about the top clubs, I think with the exception of PSG, no other club wanted to inquire about him even though it was clear that he was wanting to leave, especially after some of his embarrassing behavior And again, I'm going to happen when he will eventually leaves, because he has a habit of leaving a club in complete a mess with a dressing room often unmanageable due to the huge egos he creates. Us and Inter Milan especially are prime examples. I really don't want that even if he gives us a couple of trophies in his probably short second reign here.
-
Reported in a paper called The Times, I can link it but you can't read it as its behind a pay wall unfortunately. http://www.thetimes.co.uk/tto/sport/football/clubs/chelsea/article3778079.ece

But it what makes his job at BVB more remarkable. He does not get even a 1/4 of the spending power Jose will have at Chelsea and every season he has to sell at least 1 of his star player. Yet he still makes them competitive and gets them to a Champions league final. Imagine what he could do with much bigger spending power? Jose has to rely on a short term plan of big spending then hope motivation is what gets the glory. Once that runs out he leaves the club and sometimes the club goes down the pits (just look at Inter Milan, or heck even for a couple of seasons after he leaves).
-
Then don't you think that this shows why it could possible go wrong for with this appointment? To me it looks like a marriage of convenience, as it seems Jose was not the first choice with Roman, and i t seems Jose is choosing us because most clubs don't want to touch him after his embarrassing behavior at Madrid. It seems that he won't get total control of all football matters like he wants and that the old fissures that came last time he was with us with us will reappear and it will lend ugly like last time? I mean for gods sakes there are already reports that Emenalo wanted to leave (and he is close to Roman). I can't help but see that conflict will arise sometime in the future.
-
Klopp, if the club were willing to pay out his long contract. Can wok on tight budgets, and most importantly does not have this hue ego that has a defend at all cost at the expense of the club which is what I'm really not looking forward when it comes to Mourinho.
-
When did I say he will definitely be a failure? I said it may not be as successful (or at all) as before but wwith the squad he has inherited and the money he will spend, he better give us success since he will also bring the controversy that follows him. And you make this argument about how fans are so attached to him, I want to ask what happens when he will probably leave again? Are the likes of you going to spend every season crying and demand that the club bring him back again. This unhealthy love for the man isn't god considering he is on of the most unstable managers when it comes to job length.
-
Yeah, you might want to read the Klopp comment and thanks for backing my argument.
-
With the squad he inherited and the amount of money he spent with the only competition was what was seen as a weakening Barca side. Of course t has to be seen as a failure. One La Liga title from a manager of his caliber is a poor return. And the funny thin with your second question, is that it seems he as not Roman's first choice. I would prefer the supposedly first two choices in Pep and Klopp, mainly because they have managed to win titles and would not produce the controversy Mourinho does. Even more impressively with Klopp since he can still make competitive squads on limited budgets.
-
Are yo misreading my posts on purpose or do you have limited brain capabilities to read at all? While his managerial career certainly has been successful his time at Madrid has to go down as a failure for reasons already given. It also shows that he is not a god as many people believe him to be and there are big negatives when appointing him. But since everyone is telling me how brain dead I am for not worshiping him 24/7. I now expect him to win the title every season he stays with us as well as last one champions league. Bare minimum requirements.
-
And like I said, a Barca team that was weakened that season, and was even more weaker this season, yet he and Madrid went over the edge in spectacular fashion despite spending massive amounts of money every season- that's a failure in my eyes. When he comes here, he has to win the League every season in my eyes, and at least one champions league (if he stays for what expect 3 years) considering the money he will be allowed to spend wit our already expensive squad. Anything below that s underachieving.
-
The league is just between Barca and Madrid, and yet everyone has been saying that for the last two seasons Barca have been weakened. So how comes Madrid did not capitalize on this despite that idea? So yes it should be considered a failure because he should have done so much more with the money he spent.
-
But we are not talking about his overall time as a manager, we are talking about his time at Madrid, nice attempts at strawman arguments.
-
The best short term manager, but have you ever considered that it might not the same success story that he had with us last time. People have just assumed that he will be here for the long term and that it will be nothing but roses and honey for us. The league is much more competitive then it was when he first came here. And not to mention in Europe the likes of Munich have become near invincible super powers, And wee have just seen with his tenure at Madrid that he can fail (and I'm sorry, but just one La Liga title and Copa Del Ray is no where near enough considering the squad he inherited and the money he spent to add to it). And I can't not ignore his negatives (and there are massive negatives with him) because they can cause some of the most cringeworthy stuff possible in football. Yet the most frustrating aspect is that some fans have decided that we are nothing without Jose and that he is the club himself, which is ridiculous.
-
In 10-15 years time, History will remember that he managed to accomplish in a weak league with only two competitive sides in it; while inheriting the most expensive squad in the world and putting even more money to make the most expensive squad in the world by ten-fold; just one La Liga and One Copa Del Ray. When he rejoins us. He has to win the league next season, I won't except anything lower then that. Since he will again inherit an expensive squad and (if Rafa is right) have at least £100 million to spend with.
