Brought on to protect Alonso I felt as he was on a yellow. Now can we stop taking jibes at Conte for playing Gary? He dropped GC and rightfully so, we looked much better without him. His inclusion against Arsenal was questionable, but two below-par performances after his suspension will make any manager scratch their heads and Conte is no Mourinho with this untouchables bullshit.

When you see a 17-year old it isnt just about ability. Ampadu was certainly not bad, but it was his mentality that I really liked the most.
He was constantly asking for the ball, orchestrating the rest of the team, going in for a crunching tackle straight away and more than once trying to go for those pin-point long-balls. It showed character and courage, a determination to not just be a cameo but to play on the same merit as the others. 
I really hope we get to see him maybe not start games, but get a solid 3-400 minutes this season. One to follow for sure. 

Any argument about Azpi in the bench should stop immediately. He's one of the first names on the team sheet.

The thing is with Willian is people say he's inconsistent when he isn't, he's super consistent in terms of playing at his true level. That's why people think he's plays better the worse the team get, in my eyes he wasn't any better in 15/16 than he was in the two title winning season's either side he just stood out because of how bad thing's got with the squad (and was having a free kick purple patch).

It's a sign that United have declined when all they have to gloat about is how "big" they are. We never heard that nonsense during Fergie's era now players and fans won't shut up about how "huge"  they are.  They are officially like Liverpool.

Take kante out of are team then tell me he's overrated.

I always count we have 18 first team players now (with Chalobah leaving), 17 if Zouma leaving, 3 are HG (Moses, Cahill, Fabregas). We are sort of 5 more HG (filled up the quota with any HG kids from reserves or U18 if needed). Costa and Matic out, mystery man and Bakayoko in, so it won't change anything. Basically we still can sign another 2-3 non-HG players.

Sad too see him go, probably should've gotten more chances last season but I can't blame Conte after winning the pl.
I assume we will either keep Matic (doubt it since he's training alone etc) or buy another backup... No idea who that would be tho.
Also it feels like we're letting go of homegrown/English players one by one now, too lazy to check the numbers atm but I guess we're good for now? 

Season can be very long (injuries, yellow/red cards, tiredness..). I wouldn't sell him. At least not this season..

It would be greatly appreciated if@Jim could provide some kind of explanation or status update on the issues plaguing the forum and main site. They've been happening for a long time now without much explanation or assurance that they will be dealt with. In its current shape the forum is unsustainable - new users and casual visitors will be put off by slowness, sluggishness and bugs. Visiting this place has become a chore.

I'm actually quite happy if he stays,  rather keep Costa than spend 100m on Lukaku.  As long as Costa keeps his head down and stop looking for a transfer away in the next transfer window again.

All those mentioning Lukaku - fuck me his first touch is worse - he is lazier than Diego -,who is a born winner and sets the tempo accordingly from the front. Lukaku isn't as natural a finisher as Cosa. 
Genuinely - some of you are proper deluded - just because we are trying 1-2's doesn't mean they will come off - and yes his link up play can be erratic - but that's a small price to pay. You need to look at the collective attributes not the individual attributes- a team wins things, don't let the media and bullshit marketing convince you otherwise. Without every other single player putting a shift in - we could have Messi and Renaldo and still lose every game....
