See whilst I know what you are saying there is another side to this. Last season he handed in a transfer request, right now, that still stands and is basically doing the talking for Rooney. Rooney has basically said "Here ya go, end of" Moyes, whilst constantly saying he won't be sold is kidding himself because his player has a transfer request that is still alive and active on his desk. No team in their right mind want to keep a player who does not want to be there. I really do not see Rooney leaving for Barcelona, he has two very young children and comes across to me as a home boy. United couldn't turn down a bid of 25-30M from us, no chance, the Yanks will jump at this. The noises from our players and Jose speak volumes to me, and players aren't daft they will know the targets and all this tells me things are being worked on. It won't be easy to fetch him here but I think we will get our man, we just have to be patient. The biggest slap in the face for Rooney was when Moyes said "He would provide a good back up to RvP......may as well of just hit him with a cricket bat. Rooney is on, I tell ya now.

It isn't time for pressing the panic button yet as the window is still open for some time, but regardless of that we need a top striker IMO. I'm worried about Torres and Ba, not so much with Lukaku but I think we need to get rid of Ba and bring in a Rooney or dare I say it Suarez.

There is two ways to look at this, it shouldn't read "Leaves a bad taste in your mouth" yes it maybe strange he has chosen a some what weaker league over where he could of potentially ended up, but if teams where not able to stump up what Napoli wanted it becomes a moot point. You also have to appreciate that he might just be leaving Napoli to go to PSG to actually build something there, which is a fresh start where all parties receive exactly what they want. This isn't just about the clause, but about the astronomical wages that go with it. The club have to stop somewhere, and maybe this is a step too far for us, and to be fair it isn't a bad thing. We all want the best players here, but I feel the club and board have made the right choice in this instance if we backed out of this.

Good luck to him, staggering amount of money he will be earning, monstrous in fact. Wanted him badly here, think he is one of the best in the world but I am also very glad in a way we are not forking out such astronomical amounts but spreading over a few signings.

Moyes before these comments was papering over cracks with all that spiel about "he won't be sold" blah blah, these comments now suggest to me there is a rift here and like said above, I'd be having words with my agent if I were him.
