I think playing two different strikers in two games tells you all you need to know about how unsure Jose is about what he's seen already. If we had an out and out top class striker you wouldn't of seen a change in that position like we have in the last two games, unless an injury occurs. People are calling for Lukaku because of how short of quality our other two are. He hasn't played so it's more like 'he can't be any worse' he probably can't but what if he is? We aren't on easy street here, and it's why we need a top class forward like Rooney. Lukaku is still raw, and he deserves his chance but I am not one to pin my hopes on him flying out of the blocks.

I agree, there is a lot of scenarios in this. After his two assist cameo v Swansea it should be hard to leave him out of the team, but I just have a feeling he will start on the bench.

It's going to be really interesting to see what happens to see if he is starts or is on the bench. I would be gutted if he comes off the bench to score and slides on his knees toward their fans and lauds the applause, that would all the indication we would need to know it ain't happening. If he does start on the bench and remains there I have a feeling Rooney and Moyes only know one thing will happen. If he's left out he's on his way IMO.

It's hard not to be OTT in your assessment as we must remember this is the second game in. Players are not at 100% yet but we will get there and Jose will get them there, patience is key. One top striker and we are set to go, lets get behind the lads and rip United a new one at OT. CAREFREE!!

The striker situation right now at this club is not funny at all. We have a very average player in Torres, Ba isn't even good enough as a back up and Lukaku isn't even tried and tested here. If anything will stop us challenging for the league it's our forward options.

Plus he just signed a new contract with no doubt a monstrosity of a buy out clause in it.

Thought it was a very average performance but credit has to go to Villa as they came here and did a very good job getting in amongst us and sticking to a clear plan. A win is a win but we must be 100% better than this v United, a United who regardless of Moyes are capable of really getting at us especially with RvP leading the line. Ba is a liability, caught offside a stupid amount of times and him and Torres are like two people you just don't want to have to rely on, and is exactly why we need a top class forward NOW!!

I'm hoping it doesn't go that far and we get Rooney, end of. What I love about Rooney is his desire and work rate, I can see why the boss wants him, tremendous attributes and would offer us millions.

I think your missing the point mate. Whilst we have been stupid in the past I do not think Jose will be daft enough to allow it to happen again. If we get Rooney Ba will probably be allowed to go, if we don't get Rooney it does sound like a back up plan is place and so on. Either way we won't have two strikers going into the season, it will be three at least.
