Gibson this season has been a golden light in a tragic season for Boro. His distribution with both feet has been first class, his reading of the game is absolute quality, his timing of tackles is superb and he will be a main stay of the England back line for years to come, I promise. We all questioned the Alonso signing last season but maybe in this instance I'm seeing something in Gibson we all missed in Alonso. I'm not certain we will go for Gibson but we could do a hell of a lot worse I'm telling you, not only that but his price will probably a realistic figure and not something stupid like for what is being spoken about for VvD.

Totally unrealistic price, and if that figure is right we won't pay it. We could get Ben Gibson for half of that and he's every bit as good, and I say that with confidence after watching both all season.

The only thing that matters is seeing the trophy lifted on Sunday, the match itself whether you support Chelsea or Sunderland is a dead rubber. I also think he will get the captaincy, I also think he will get it next season because I think we will buy a new CB for alongside Luiz and Cahill used as a squad option. This IMO should happen- Cahill has had a very good season but do we allow that to stop us improving? Not at all for me, he's still out of the three the shakiest and we need an upgrade and it's more than possible to replace with better quality.

After watching Monday night back again and his performance, not just his performance but his movement I think he will retire. He looked like he had drawing pins inside his socks, his ability to move and change direction is gone. He never had much speed but now he looks in pain as he runs. Sunday should be his last act, he has a legacy here and he will be commended for that and given the best send off. But do your body a favor John, end it now, do your coaching badges and go from there. He doesn't need money, he can amble on behind the scenes and get the support from the club for coaching etc, you never know he may slot into the chair next to Antonio, nobody knows but don't torture yourself elsewhere John, it's time now.

The money from winning the league and all that comes with it, plus assuming Costa goes for between 70-100M and to add to that all the dead wood sales that 'Should' happen, we are looking at a pretty penny to spend. If we scrape the barrel this season/summer transfer window then we get all we deserve. Winning the league and sitting on our hands is not what should happen, this club need to now go to the next level, that can only happen with top class elite signings. Sanchez is the first player I want to see us go for, if not Sanchez then Bale for the right side and following that RN from Roma and either Lukaku or Griezmann. These players take us up a level, the level the CL and PL require. Keeping Hazard is massive, and I think he will stay and keeping/building the spine a very strong one is also hugely key.

We must also cut out the late chasing of players, and what I mean by that is all this waiting until the window is 2 weeks from closing-Do the business and do it early; I fully understand transfers can drag on but that is a total different scenario as to one of chasing a player late in the window and have zero chance of even getting in a back up and been left with nothing. I hope the solid groundwork's have started now with the identification of all players already, it has to be this way.

And if they don't qualify and lost to Ajax? Yes they will still attract big names and pay huge wages but is Griezmann going to go there with no European football? You can use the name of Pogba and say 'Well he went there last season' But I bet you he didn't imagine only relying on the EL to get in the CL next season.
