The funny thing is... AVB was told to play attractive football last season but with last season's squad, a squad that wasn't capable of doing so. This season, we have the players to do so but lack the manager. And I agree, AVB would be great.
-
According to Guillem Balagué, Chelsea wanted Negredo. But didn't want him enough to meet the asking price.
-
To be fair, he gave AVB a lot more time than many expected. And he probably would have given him more time had a couple of players not been acting the way they did.

Forget sacking Rafa its a new board we need

I agree. We as fans may love good old-fashioned centre-backs like JT and Ivanovic, but the truth is that Chelsea have moved on. We're becoming more and more possession based which is exposing the weaknesses of playes like Ramires, Ivanovic and even Cole at times. Soon enough there simply will be no place in our team for Ramires and Ivanovic. We may not like that, but it's what I think will most likely happen.

Replacing Torres with Ba in the starting line-up would be a great fucking start though.

You just have to be a bit stricter, that's all. You're too kind!

@Muzchap: I thought your likes were gone?

Fixed. When is he ever up front?

I'm sorry but Ivanovic has underperformed a lot more than once this season. It's only now that people have the guts to say it after that god-awful performance from him tonight.
-
I'm gonna put something positive out there: How brilliant was that finish from Ba? Magnificent.

If anyone actually thinks that Ivanovic is better at RB than Azpilicueta then they are delusional.
-
No, I didn't say that. Of course it's not alright. But I'm just so bloody sick of the double standards on here. It's ridiculous.

I can't imagine the abuse Luiz or Mikel would get if they had made only one of those dreadful mistakes tonight. The double standards are unfair. Anyway, Luiz put in a heroic performance tonight. Top class. Oscar and Hazard were also very good, I thought.
-
I don't think it's time to call for Rafa's head just yet, the team played very well tonight and he got his tactics correct. He was late with the substitutions, but RDM was just the same if not worse with substitutions. Let's not forget that.

Are you kidding me? They were not 'unfortunate.' They were mistakes that came about from his dreadfully casual attitude and he should not escape criticism.
-
I'll probably get a lot of abuse for this but fuck it. Ivanovic was absolutely disgraceful. Two ridiculous mistakes that cost us and his attitude throughout the whole match was even more of a disgrace. I've been saying this since September but he his performance and attitude has dropped a hell of a lot this season. Not many will admit it because he's one of 'the old guard.' Credit where credit is due, but also criticism where criticism is due. We played very well tonight as a team and he let us down big time. Many will say I'm over-reacting but I don't think so. And this isn't some impulsive complaining either. I've been saying this about Ivanovic since the start of the season. The truth is, if Luiz had made just one of those mistakes, there would be 30+ posts in his thread saying how bad he is. I'm sick of the double standards. And before anyone turns this into a Torres discussion... Torres was also dreadful and does not deserve to wear that badge on his chest.
-
You can't possibly know that for sure. How do you know how the Chelsea board feels? Is it Mr Emenalo in disguse that I'm talking to?
-
First of all, Fellaini is a very good player but what suggests that he will fit very well at Chelsea? Secondly, where did I imply that I know better than the Chelsea board? Please, show me where I said or even implied that. I simply said that just because Fellaini is great at Everton, it does not mean he will be great here. Quite simply, you've resorted to a childish argument in saying that I think I know better than the Chelsea board. We're all entitled to our opinions here and I may disagree with you, but that does not mean I know better than the board. So please, don't be so insulting.
-
According to SkySports, Manchester United confirm they are not interested in signing either Lampard or Cole.
-
You're missing the point completely. He may be very instrumental to Everton's success this season, but that does not mean that Chelsea needs him. It simply means that a lot of fans want him. Shane Long has been instrumental to West Brom's success this season, does that mean Chelsea need him? No. The same could be said for many other players in the league. We have our own system and other clubs have theirs. The season may be long and laborious but that is nowhere close to being a good enough reason alone to sign Fellaini.
-
That's irrelevant to how they are doing in La Liga. Have you watched many of their games this season? Trust me, they are a laughing stock. Real Madrid is more of a soap opera than a football team at the moment.
-
I must get myself a pair of those sandles!
-
Real Madrid are the laughing stock of La Liga at the moment. When you buy so many top class players that the club doesn't need, a lot of egos clash and the team plays like crap. Hence, Real Madrid's season so far.
