  1. A lot of players would be good for Chelsea but that doesn't mean we should sign every one of them. The focus should be on the club's needs.
  2. There isn't one single fan who wants Lampard to go to Chelsea. And on top of that, I seriously doubt that Lampard would want to play for United. The media is basically using the same old trick to make Chelsea look evil by saying we would rather let a club legend go to United than give him a contract. Lampard is probably my favourite player of all time but I can understand why the board might not want to give him a new contract. Whether the majority of people thinks it right or wrong of the board, I can understand. However, if we don't give Lampard a new contract then it is up to him what he wants to do. If he signs for United, I will lose a lot of respect for him (but I seriously doubt this would be the case). Blaming the board for not giving him a new contract is justifiable but blaming them for Lampard going to United makes no sense. That would be completely Lampard's decision, not the board's.
  3. It's possible. And yes, Mikel does have sell-on value but in this case it seems to me that the board have faith in Mikel moreso than they want to sell him. I'm sure that time will come in the future when the board decide they want to sell him, but I doubt it would be in the next three or four years.
  4. Why would the Chelsea board lose your support? If Lampard went to United, the only part the board would play is not giving him a new contract and would have no control over what he does when his contract is up. If Lampard isn't given a contract this summer and then moves to United, it should be Lampard himself that loses your full support, not the board.
  5. I'm not sure what you mean by 'went with Mikel' but I'm assuming you mean Modric playing alongside Mikel. And I agree with you there, it would work very well. But why would Chelsea hand Mikel a new 5 year contract then buy Fellaini to replace him as our starting DM? Again, I'm not entirely sure what you mean but that scenario makes no sense. After Mikel signed a new contract, that suggest one of two things: - Fellaini would provide competition for Mikel - Chelsea are intending to use Fellaini in role higher up the pitch
  6. Fellaini is a great player, but I'm not sure he would fit into our system. Chelsea being interested in Fellaini would make sense if they were planning to use him as a Plan B, someone who gives us another option. But I think we would better off to either persist with moving Oscar deeper or buying someone like Joao Moutinho.
  7. That's a good point. And assuming it will be Guardiola who will be our manager next season, then he will almost certainly play 4-3-3.
  8. Wow, that is just being pessimistic for the sake of it. Mikel just signed a 5 year contract.
  9. I think Oscar will more than likely start with Moses gone to ACON.
  10. Wahey you found someone! Sorry for not helping more, but glad you found someone. And a good read!
  11. I don't think anyone is satisfied as long as Torres is one of two strikers we have. It's just been talked to death over the past few months. All we can do is wait we have a top class striker + Ba. Torres can be our third choice for all I care (although I know that would never happen).
  12. I 100% agree with you, but I think there's more to it than Frank taking a pay cut. I think the rumours about Abramovich not wanting the players having to much of an influence could be true, especially when you consider what happened with AVB. I mean, I would be fairly pissed off too if I spent 13 million pounds on a manager and a few players decided to do everything they could to get him sacked, which in turn would cost more money.
  13. It's interesting that you say that, because I've been reading all of the arguments that people have been having in this thread over the past few days and it's people failing to see it from another person's point of view that is causing the arguments. There seems to be two sides: 1. The ones who are trying to find hope in the board's silence, like you said. 2. The ones who have decided to assume that Frank will not be given a new contract and have accepted that they may have to move on. If people could just look at things from both points of view, then we wouldn't have all of these arguments and insults etc. Everyone is entitled to their opinion and they shouldn't be shot down in half a second if it differs from the norm.
  14. What are you talking about? You were the one that came out with this ridiculous theory of yours. And it's so ridiculous that it pretty much is a theory. No, of course you don't care. You just insult anyone who disagrees with you on here, why would you care? Now you can continue being childish.
  15. The last thing we need in this discussion is conspiracy theories.
  16. I'm sure there must be a Swansea forum or English Football forum you could have a look on.
  17. They can if they sell other players, which they will. They obviously hold Isco in high regard and Isco loves the club.
  18. Yeah, but they didn't make it clear whether they were talking about his ability or reputation.
  19. According to Guillem Balagué, there has been no contact from Chelsea regarding Benat.
  20. No. Mata is the little wizard!
  21. I agree... but if they were to sell anyone to us, it would be Song (or another academy player that they don't want).
  22. It would be better for our attack, but Mata must be instructed to stay in the hole between the midfield and striker. Arsenal use more of 4-3-3, so naturally Cazorla is going to be deeper at times. Under RDM, Mata seemed to be dropping deep a lot more. Not sure if he was instructed to do so or not, but it worked well at times. But it also didn't work so well sometimes as he could be too deep and the attack would be halted.
  23. What is all this talk about 'Lampard's replacement'? No one is going to replace Lampard. Legends come and they go, and the club moves on after they leave. They may remain our hearts and in the history books, but that is all. Does anyone really think the board is sitting around saying 'We need a player exactly like Lampard. Yes, Lampard's replacement.' It's just never going to happen. Barcelona didn't replace Ronaldinho. Real Madrid didn't replace Zidane. Chelsea didn't replace Zola. But all of those clubs moved on just fine.
