Fuck going to Donetsk.
-
I think that if he had gone then he'd have been done here, so I'm glad he's sticking around. We may well need him as the games get closer and at the start of next year when Mikel has better things to do than play for this club.
-
If his wages are off the books then it frees up money for a new striker, and a non-HG spot. Stating the obvious I know, but it's still worthwhile. If it doesn't go ahead I hope Milan make it clear that it was his fault.
-
Ed Woodward offered £27 million for it.

Really? Have no idea what the reaction to that will be, but nothing compared to what QPR supporters will say. Know the council is looking to build a Crossrail station there so it'll be an area of regeneration, which usually gives cases like our's an easier run. We'd also be in Kensington and Chelsea if that matters. Here's the proposed station which is right next to the gasworks. Correct me if I'm wrong on any of this. Anyways the transport links look fantastic. Direct lines to Berkshire and Kent plus links to Heathrow, Liverpool St., Paddington and even the proposed West Coast Mainline.

We also have Ake and Chalobah (who seems likely to go out on loan). Honestly I think Van Ginkel is probably going to go the route of Romeu. His chance to break through was last year but he got injured. Sometimes you only get one shot. Unless you're John Obi Mikel.
-
Even if there is interest, why jinx it? Just assume it won't happen and if it does then you get a happy surprise.
-
Awful to think that we're actually going to loan out this kid and retain Mikel because Mikel bears a passing resemblance to a holding midfielder. If we lose Oscar or Fabregas for a game or two then Van Ginkel's game is the closest of all of our midfielders to their's but he simply might not get enough games. If he does go out on loan then hopefully it's only a short-term one and he tears it up in Serie A.

£20 on MK to win at 6/1. Cheers Louis.

According to reports, Cavani earns about 7 times as much as Destro and would cost about double. In a team that plays a mostly one striker system, two marquee players are hard to accommodate both on the pitch and in the books.

Very outdated view of London and the UK.
-
That's a fair point. On a personal level he's earning a lot of money for not much, but he's got a family to think of. That's something everyone has to contend with. But what does that say about him as a sportsperson? He certainly doesn't have the ability to be a top-level sportsman anymore and that would just confirm he doesn't have the mentality either. He's a bit-part player at this club and he's got the opportunity to go to a new league and prove people wrong. But maybe he doesn't want to do that. Maybe he wants to be the new Winston Bogarde and just see out his contract on the training pitch, with the occasional appearance on a football pitch. He can most certainly do that if he pleases but he'll get abuse from every Chelsea supporter and disdain from every football supporter.

http://www.chelseafc.com/news/latest-news/2014/08/saville-makes-wolves-move.html Gone. Best of luck to him.
-
I'd expect a few stories to start appearing about how he turned down the deal if this happens. So far the crowd has been behind him, but if it looks like he's refusing to move just because of money then it could get ugly.
-
Weird with Gerrard retiring, Barkley injured and Wilshere shit. 6th most-capped player is not a bad achievement.
-
I know a pub team who are looking for a waterboy. But seriously, Welbeck is United's Kalou. He's just not good at football.
-
Is Willian actually fast? He's looks nippy but does he actually have out and out pace? Jose wouldn't do that. Brenton definitely would, but Jose wouldn't.
-
Could see the logic in any selection here. Ramires workrate makes us more defensively solid, but Oscar has that and the ability to pick a pass and get a goal. Willian also has that workrate and ability to hit teams on the counter whilst this is exactly the type of game you'd want someone like Schurrle to nick a goal. Just got to trust Jose and once again rejoice in the fact we have these selection issues, compared to a couple of seasons ago when everyone could predict the team 6 weeks in advance. Courtois, Azpi, Ivanovic, Cahill, Terry, Matic, Costa and Hazard nailed on. Fabregas almost certain to start. Choices between Oscar, Schurrle, Willian and Ramires.
-
I've not seen much of him but he's never struck me as a particularly special talent. But if Jose likes him then why not? Serie A simply isn't a reliable barometer for a player's talent anymore.

£59.7 million http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/28915510 Desperation buy from United and Real must be laughing their arses off.
-
Marginally. Oscar had a poor second half of the season but Willian hardly set the pitch on fire when he was on it. In the two matches this season, Oscar has played in a different role and been impressive in spots. I'd probably go with Oscar or Ramires against Everton, not sure what Willian offers in that position to be honest.
-
By looking good against a team who had the wind knocked out of them with the Costa goal and were tiring after 70 minutes? 3 minutes after Willian came on they bought on Taylor-Fletcher, a man who is clearly about a stone too heavy to be a professional footballer. Maybe not the sternest of tests?
-
That's a really nice idea and the Attenborough Stand has a fantastic ring to it. Would love to see something like that happen. We'll be wearing black armbands at Everton too. Somewhat fitting this should happen on a Bank Holiday weekend though....somewhere The Great Escape will be showing.

But you are a hyprocrite. Anyone who has read your posts can see that. You bash the club for not selecting young players but then when we utilise someone like Courtois, you deride him as 'flavour of the month'. I've been critical of Oscar but he's clearly being used in a new role this season and he needs patience....something you don't have despite wanting young players to come through. That is a hypocritical stance because the one thing young players need is patience. As for comparing him to Mikel and Torres, Mikel has been here for 9 years. He is who he is. Torres was bought as the final product. Oscar was bought for his potential and he's still only 22! He carried the team at times last season, but he was also very poor for a lot of it. Now he's playing a different position with Fabregas taking over a lot of the creative tasks for the team...and he's got 3 assists in 2 games. Despite that our first goal came from an Oscar pass that was world-class. It was exactly what you've been wanting. He also hit the post and put in a tackle in the first-half that stopped a Leicester break from a corner. Give him time....exercise some patience and maybe even admit when you're wrong. Here, I'll hold your hand through it. I was harsh on Oscar but so far he's started doing some of the things I want to see with him so he deserves a pat on the back but also encouragement to do more.
-
It's not just that he's new but that he seems better in a couple of areas and whenever you get something 'better' it makes the weaknesses in what you had more apparent. The people who called him 'flavour of the month' should probably acknowledge that he's actually not just stepped up but probably exceeded expectations. He will make mistakes because he's human (as far as we know) but honestly I think he's done enough to start the next 10 games.
