  1. Thanks a million mate! She's actually born in Dublin!
  2. Guys, can someone tell me if Chelsea TV are showing a replay of the game later tonight? (GMT) I would watch it live of course, but my partner gave birth to a beautiful baby girl on Tuesday and they're coming home today!
  3. Came in here expecting to be educated about Paulinho, so I started on page 1 and worked my way here, and all I've learned is the official name of the Brazilian league and that Italy have a bad economy.... So this is for 90% of you:
  4. Agreed. You have to think about their positions as well. Chalobah being a 6'2 defender/defensive-mid, he loves a tackle. Obviously, he was brought through an English academy too, so it's easier for him overall to adapt to the physical side of the Championship/PL. Piazon on the other hand; brought up in Brazil, attacking player, flair, not as well built etc. It would be a lot harder for him. A loan move to somewhere like Spain would be great for him, but realistically, I'd say we're looking Vitesse sometime in the new year.
  5. Absolutely. I can see where you're coming from, and should look at it in the summer at least. However, right now in the January window I feel we need to get our priorities right and spend smartly (especially with no CL revenue). A DM and ST are top of the list, anything else might be a bit luxury in a transitional season I feel. Any kinks or weakness in the squad can always be ironed out in the summer.
  6. I understand your worries about Marin, but I don't think we should give up on him just yet. We have nearly 2 months to see what he can do if he forces his way into the 11, plus, we did spend a bit of dosh on him. As for Isco, I'm not so sure. Young Spanish midfielders are at a premium right now (Javi Martinez anyone?), so I don't think any of them will go for cheap, even one in Isco's position. Malaga would rather hold onto him than flog him on the cheap.
  7. Ryan, that's quite a shopping list for the January window... No more of these please. We have them coming out the wazoo. Moses and Marin should be enough to rotate. Plus, the one's you've mentioned would be ridiculously expensive for just a rotation player. A striker and defensive-mid are top of the list and are of equal, crucial importance in my eyes. If we just get them, i'll be a very happy bunny indeed.
  8. Trousers down.... Hands at the ready.... Let the wankfest begin!!! :wank2: :wank2: :wank2: :wank2: :wank2: :wank2:
  9. West Ham fans singing 'Are you Chelsea in disguise?' to Liverpool...I think.
  10. Now Kojo, you're going to start rumours of a love affair between us if we agree anymore, so don't get me started on how great The Mak was...maybe i'll rant in the Mikel thread later! Edit: It's also a shame about the guy in your avatar, our midfield is crying out for the likes of the Bison (before all the injuries of course). And anytime anyone even mentions Mikel's abilities in the same breath as Makélelé's, point me in their direction!!!
  11. Now I know it's bad and all, but c'mon, you can't say that's not the least bit funny! It's a derby, emotions are high etc., so Rio stupidly goes to celebrate in front of the City fans, then someone stupidly throws a coin and Rio gets one in the eye...well, he can hardly complain can he? Was he expecting roses? Either way, you have to admire the marksmanship! What a shot!
  12. Same. I was so proud when commentators/pundits would talk about our strength and power as a team to absolutely boss a game. We were able to outmuscle just about anyone. The beauty of it was, we were also able to pass it around when needed. The perfect balance. Now I look at our team and it's full of...not the strongest of players let's say. Makes me pine for the old days a bit! But 'c'est la vie'.
  13. I would say maybe Klopp, as he seems to have perfected our formation, but he said earlier this year he wouldn't take the Chelsea job. Plus, why would he? He's doing extremely well with Dortmund. Also not sure about his English. We can always hope for José, but I think you're right sadly, I don't think he'll come back...we can still hope though!
  14. This was always my view as well. Who says that Roman is waiting for Pep? Who said he wants us to be blue-Barca? Because the last time I checked, he doesn't do interviews. It's just media bullshit as far as I can see. What has happened in the past few weeks has told me that Roman, above anything else, wants a winning football team.
  15. Exactly. He literally had 3 things to do today, and they all ended up behind him. An above average english keeper, overhyped by the media.
  16. How? Just, how exactly? José stormed the league in his first season and Mancini eventually got it on his third. It took us just 2 years after our takeover to win the league, it took City 4. Also, how much did each club and manager spend since their take over? I'd imagine City have spent much more. There is no comparrison.
  17. Exactly. I'll tell you now, not only as someone who studies stats, but someone who has common sense (not that you don't or anything); those stats don't mean shit. Sorry, as themightyblue and nadavTKL have already pointed out, the main comparison was the amount of games played and Falcao has played 10 less. Whoever made that chart needs to do it again with an equal amount of games played by each. Want to bet Falcao will get at least 2 goals from open play in the next 10 games? I didn't think so... I find this comment quite ironic! Sorry mate, I'm not trying to bash you, nor am I advocating Falcao, I'm just trying to point out that stats are easily manipulated! Thats all!
  18. Seriously, what is the point in the anti-Rafa chants right now? Where is the logic? I'm going to assume they've had a few drinks or something, because it's just so stupid and quite embarrassing. It doesn't help the club in any shape or form.
  19. LOOK AT THAT GAP! The gap between our midfield and defence! My word!
  20. That's a shocking goal to concede. Cech could've got that if he was bothered.
  21. Oh thank jesus Mata isn't injured. I find myself having an 'Essien moment' multiplied by 10, anytime Mata goes down after a challenge!
  22. Don't be injured, don't be injured, don't be injured!!
  23. We're looking very lightweight in midfield now. We need to calm this down, even if it means passing the ball in our own half.
  24. Lol, kind of, yeah! But he also validated my criticism too I guess! Believe me, I want Torres to do well; he does well, so do we. I just hope he continues to try to get between defenders, instead of avoiding conflict in bad positions.
  25. Terrible, terrible Torres. His positioning is so shit for both of those chances, it's unbelievable. Why the fuck was he at the back post, at a terrible angle and not in the centre, between defenders. Same with the first one, he refuses to go in between the centre-backs. ....and as I type this, he scores. Guess from where? In the CENTRE, BETWEEN DEFENDERS!! Wow, look Fernando! Look what you can do when actually position yourself!
