  1. By some of the posts on here, it makes it seem like we shouldn't bother buying a striker at all because their either going to end up playing like Torres or because they're not like Drogba...I mean, I know we've become accustomed to high standards, but come on. I'm pretty sure Falcao will stick the ball in the net wherever he ends up. We've all seen Torres miss some golden chances, including today, and I bet the majority of people here were imagining what if those chances fell to ANY other striker. I'm just worried about paying £50m for a, soon-to-be, 27 year old. The ideal scenario would be a cash + Torres deal. Either way, I'm sure we'd get £15m+ for Torres.
  2. You know mate, looking at his form recently, I was honestly jealous of Spurs having the likes of him...but it happens so often when I see pretty much any team's striker put away his chances!
  3. Just realised today, Mata has scored more for Chelsea than Torres...20 to 19. I didn't know whether to be happy or sad...then I realised Mata is a beast and that Torres will be gone soon, so I was quite happy! Edit: not to forget Mata's 33, THIRTY-FUCKING-THREE, assists in a season and a half.
  4. What do we think of Fellaini as a DM? Certainly better than Mikel I think, more of a physical presence. He'd be a bit overpriced, but I suppose it'll always happen with us. Don't know enough on him as a DM though as Moyes has been using him as a second striker basically. Be a good link up with all of our other Belgian collection anyway! http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11661/8298821/Everton-s-Marouane-Fellaini-would-prefer-to-play-as-a-defensive-midfielder
  5. Funny thing is, he's not even a striker!
  6. http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11661/8298821/Everton-s-Marouane-Fellaini-would-prefer-to-play-as-a-defensive-midfielder Well it's certainly where he'd rather play. It's pretty easy to say he's more effective up front, considering his form at the moment and the way Everton play to his absolute domination in the air. But I think he was put there because he puts a shift in, because he fights for the ball. Now, I'm not going to sit here and act like a Fellaini expert and say we need him; but we certainly, on the back of today's performance, need someone in there with a physical presence and a will to win the ball back. Mikel doesn't have either really. Not sure about spending £25-30m on Fellaini though.
  7. Ramires is doing well defending in our box. That's the 2nd or 3rd time he's stopped the momentum of a header at goal. He may not win the header, but he's very good at putting them off. Maybe something some won't notice when it comes to the end of the game...
  8. By the way, I didn't know Hazard could generate that much power in a shot. Why the fuck hasn't he done it before?!?! Especially those moments where he's passed where he should be shooting.
  9. So much going on....can't type...fast enough!!!
  10. Jesus, we need to get the ball and keep it, even if it's in our own half.
  11. Lads, these are shit. We need to punish them NOW though. But I suppose that's what we've lacked so far this season, finishing teams off while we're on top. Though, it's a bit hard to do without a striker I suppose...
  12. Rami could've sprinted down the line there and cut it back, no? Seemed like he was waiting for us to catch up, but doing that also allows the defenders to get back. Demel was caught between him and Mata, he had so much space!
  13. That's what he gets for diving for the pen! Fucking wanker! Super Chelsea, STILL crushing his dreams!
  14. Rafa Benitez says Fernando Torres not solely to blame for Chelsea's lack of goals http://www1.skysport...s-lack-of-goals This is bullshit, Benitez is now going to drag the rest of the team down with Torres. Torres' problems, has now become the entire team's problem. I knew they already were, but there's no need for this. This is attacking every other player's confidence, especially the trio, and that's the last thing we need going into the WCC: Mata, Oscar and Hazard questioning themselves. Can anyone see now why I called Torres a cancer???
  15. I'm not saying he didn't do ANYTHING, but he certainly didn't need to do much. Listen, we all know Barca's system, their youth, their policies, their philosophy etc., but above all so did Pep. He knew the club inside out and so does Tito now. It makes their jobs a lot easier. There is no 'transition' now for Barca managers, as it seems they'll keep promoting from inside the club, as they do with their players. The wealth of talent they have at their disposal is unmatched and their youth system is the holy grail. This is down to decades of work, not one man. Pep would probably have to snap up the entire Barca B team if he came here, because the English youth teams are no where near as good because they get no real experience as the Spanish ones do in lower leagues. Also, Messi was practically a teenager when Pep took over and Barca wouldn't be where they are without him. For example, when Spain play the way Barca do (false 9), they look no where near as impressive and quite limp going forward. Long story short: we are not Barca and we don't have Messi, so I'd really worry if Pep was appointed. Out of Pep and José, I'd gladly choose the proven winner, no matter who he manages.
  16. I feel the same way too. I've a sneaky suspicion Real will win the CL this year, it seems the only thing their players are playing for; then José will leave. Call it sentimentality or whatever, but I just don't see José managing anyone in the PL except us. Think about it. Who says it's Guardiola Roman really wants? Who said he wants a 'Blue Barca'? Because he certainly doesn't give interviews; and by the looks of the past week and a half, he wants a WINNING team above anything else. Mourinho has made no secret he's still on speaking terms with Roman; advising us, supporting us, speaking of his love for London and the club. It's all there. As for Pep, I don't see it. He had the bones of a World Cup winning squad and how could you make such a team any better? Messi. He seemed to be in the right place at the right time for Cruyff and Rijkaard's hard work to finally bear fruit. I mean, Barca don't seem to be slowing down now that Tito is manager now do they? I'm sure top European clubs will be stupidly falling over themselves in a couple of years for his services too.
  17. YOU RANG?!?!?! THE MAK IS HERE!!
  18. Don't know anything about this guy. I would say yes to any striker right about now, as long as the price is right. However, I see he was bought for about €6m, and his club would probably want about €12m back at least; which would be too much for a relatively unknown, half-way through the season. If we're spending that amount, I'd rather spend it on a more experienced goalscorer like Huntelarr or even Bony, who seems like he'd adapt to the physical side quickly at least. Personally however, I don't see much point in getting the likes of Bony when we have Lukaku; Lukaku came from a similar league, but he's taller and (somehow) quicker. He just needs to work on his touch and finishing for a few more seasons and I'm sure we have a beast on our side!
