  1. We had Colwill available last season and we saw how pissed Maresca was after Colwill got that training ground injury, he kept saying that the CB role Colwill was playing was crucial for his system. Sometimes that is all it takes, one bad injury and the whole defensive line starts to collapse. Also, this season, Sanchez got sent off against United in the first few minutes. As an experienced keeper, he really should know better than leaving his team down to 10 men.
  2. Great to see AC Milan around the top of Serie A! Pulisic in fine form this season, 4 goals in 5 games and what an assist vs Napoli 🤩 I miss the days when we had a left winger who would actually take on the opposition (Pulisic/Hazard)
  3. The CWC win has bought Maresca time but he panicked against a pretty poor United side (taking off two attackers in the first 20 mins knowing that Palmer was carrying an injury). Then against Brighton, whats with the fascination of Gusto playing as a winger, he's not a good defender and he doesn't offer a goal threat in attack.
  4. I think the bigger problem is, we have a GK who wouldn't start for any other top 6-8 PL team. And we have five CB's on the books but none of them get into the top 6 PL sides. Between Tosin, Chalobah, Fofana, Badi and Disasi....I don't see any of them at Arsenal/Livo/City, even Spurs have better CB's.
  5. Where would Enzo play at Real madrid? They already have Bellingham in advanced position, then the two french midfielders in deeper positions.
  6. Its his first season playing PL football, I think he's fine as a squad midfielder. If Lavia wasn't made of glass, we'd actually have a decent rotation in midfield!
  7. Another coach may not panic every time we get a red card and take off all the attacking options. First at United, taking off two attacking players in the first 20 minutes. Then against Brighton throwing on Gusto, Lavia, Josh. You don't beat a team like Brighton by throwing on "defensive" players and trying to soak up pressure.
  8. Lol there was a player in Sancho as well (back in the day) but when your current club want nothing to do with you, that's a massive red flag.
  9. Good point, I like to ask this question: how many of the current starting XI would walk into the title challenging sides? Caicedo, Palmer, Cucurella, Estevao for potential, Joao Pedro as a squad option. Its been clear for a while that our squad isn't good enough to challenge Livo/Arsenal or even City. Spending 90+ million on two wingers and both weren't needed by their current clubs. Garnacho was basically in United's bomb squad with Anthony and a few others and yet we still ended up paying them 40 million (at least they got part of the Mount fee back).
  10. The problem is, we don't have any other goalkeepers. Its not like we have an experienced keeper in the squad like Begovic or Schwarzer back in the day who can come in and play 1-2 games. The choice was: stick with Jorgensen or put Sanchez back in.
  11. The funny thing is, Sancho's permanent transfer to us was 25 million....and yet we ended up paying 40+ for Garnacho. United must have been delighted when Garnacho said he's not leaving the PL as Napoli were only offering 25-30 million.
  12. If that's true, then the tactics should be changed like what Tuchel did and use Reece as like a third CB on the right side.
  13. well...at least we'd have a new first choice goalkeeper if De Zerbi came along 😆
  14. Not first, that was the Forest manager 😄
  15. What was the point of breaking Guiu's loan if he isn't going to play at all? Makes no sense
  16. Why is Colwill there? 😆 Was this like a recruitment pitch "Hey Roberto, how would you like to return to Premier league coaching"
  17. Whats that 3 games in a row and now missing again
  18. Based on what Matt Law was saying in his podcast, we're going to be under UEFA restrictions next season and beyond (assuming we qualify for european football). The most interesting part was: Jackson isn't in the UCL squad this season, so his potential sale wouldn't count towards UEFA sales for next season. We would have to sell players in List A to buy new players.
  19. Win? Brighton will be able to walk in 2 goals easily against this defense. What a joke. 😆
  20. 90 million spent for bench players Surely we could have paid Palace a decent fee to get Guehi back?
  21. Surely we have a striker in the youth team? If George is going to play, let him run around on the wings, he looks completely lost up front.
  22. Someone like the Bournemouth manager would be good
  23. How many games has Lavia actually been fit for? What a waste of money
  24. Going back to this comment, so how much has Josh played after the initial Palace game? Knowing Fofana he'll play 2 more games and then go missing for another 10, he's like the defender version of Lavia
  25. How can you say that, we signed the mighty DISASI as a key position CB, then he played as a RB, then he got loaned out to Villa to share the brilliance. Also, what about the great LAVIA who can barely stay fit for 5 games. I said at the time that outbidding Liverpool for Lavia was a waste of money. Add in Fofana, Badiashile and Mudryk (who wants to become a runner now).....and the wasted money is hilarious. 40 + 50 + 70 + whatever we spent on Badi and Mudryk 😆
