Quite a fortunate goal by Kalou. Still.....not complaining. We havent seen much of Ash and Bosingwa so far. Credit to their wingers for keeping them back. If we're to get another goal we'll need them to get forward more. When Cluj have time to get players back behind the ball the final pass hasn't been good enough. Mancienne should be the next big thing to come out of Chelsea. Not in a selling sense, but to follow in the footsteps of JT. Making the transition from reserves to regular first teamer.

We've been spoilt the past few years with big money signings. But we need to spend big to make the jump to be challenging. Imo we've waited too long to start bringing the youth players through. We should have been doing it 2/3 years ago instead of loaning them out. Fair enough, you can say that they needed to pick up experience, but there no experience like playing with the first team. Sinclair for example......He's had the odd appearance here and there over the last few seasons. If he'd been kept around I feel we'd have a hell of a winger on our hands and his improvement would have been more rapid. I dont want to see the same with Stoch. He's had a taste of it and I'm sure he's hungry for more.

I dont care if we finish 2nd. First and foremost we have to qualify. If we face Barca or Inter it doesnt matter because if we do progress we'll have to play the other big teams sooner or later if we want to win it. No team is an easy team in the 2nd phase even if you finish top, which someone highlighted earlier when we faced Barca after they finished 2nd in their group. This game has no place for passengers tonight. We need a fully focused team on the pitch to do one thing. Win at all costs. C'mon Chelsea......

Easier said than done. Any Club needs a bit of a cash boost to freshen up the squad every year. If we resort to selling our assets to buy other players we wont be challenging for top honours on a yearly basis imo. I think we're quite a few years off from being fully self sufficient. I for one wouldnt mind taking a step backwards to involve more of the youth players if it meant in the long term we'd be better off for it.

I dont think this will be as straight forward as some might think. They've already shown they can hold their own against everyone in the group and they are more than capable of stopping us in our tracks. Something that could go in our favour is that they'll want to attack and not sit back as teams do when they visit us. They need a win as much as we do to get into the UEFA Cup. We all know what we can do when teams allow us to play. I'll definately be down to the knuckles for this one all right.

I dont rate this guy Vagner Love at all. I've seen him play a few times and he's not all that. Instead of shelling out for a striker in January we cant get any use out of if he's cup tied or whatever, I'd rather bring back Pizarro and wait till the summer and go all out for a top class striker.
