Nicolas Anelka Grabs The Golden Boot
Aesthetic Relic replied to the wes's topic in Matthew Harding Stand
Well done Anelka. I was under the impression he scored the majority of his goals while Scolari was here. -
Joe Cole - I want to be a middle man
Aesthetic Relic replied to the wes's topic in Matthew Harding Stand
I've always said I'd love to see Joe Cole through the middle to support the striker/s as I feel thats where he'd be at his most dangerous. Time and time again this season we've come up against a brick wall with no imagination to break through. Joe Cole is the man who would unlock many a defence. His goal against Manu at SB when we won the league is a perfect example. Surrounded by 3 or 4 players on the edge of the box. A quick trick and a shimmy and he's left them standing there looking stupid before slotting the ball home. Thats what we've been missing. My only concern is that when he tries too hard things dont come off. When he's playing naturally theres fewer players that can make what he does look so simple. I cant wait to have him back. -
Bit of a controversial question.........When you say British, are you meaning N.Ireland included or just the mainland ?

Did you really expect anything else?

Chelsea Player of the Year Awards 08/09
Aesthetic Relic replied to DavidEU's topic in Matthew Harding Stand
Dont get me wrong, I think Ash is a cracking player, but with the importance of having wing backs who bomb up and down the pitch nowadays, I feel its an area of his game which needs a serious amount of work. Thats why I leaned towards Bridge when he was here. He may not have been as good as Ash defending, but the majority of the time he would put in some fantastic crosses. Most teams defend against us so the impetus is on us to attack. When we do have to defend Ash is right up there with the best in the world. I dont want to turn this into an Ash bashing thread. I just thought I'd share my views. -
Chelsea Player of the Year Awards 08/09
Aesthetic Relic replied to DavidEU's topic in Matthew Harding Stand
No offence to Ash but WTF ? Credit were its due he's a cracking defender, but I wish he would stop going forward until he learns to cross a ball without it going out for a throw in on the opposite side or into the stand behind the goal. The rest I have no problem with....maybe Mikel getting YPOTY. -
Platini: I Like Barcelona's Style
Aesthetic Relic replied to chelsea_4_eva's topic in Matthew Harding Stand
Frankly I couldnt give a flying fuck what Platini has to say. What happened against Barca has been well publisised. The best way to get right up his hole is to go out and win the CL next season. When we go passed him on the podium I'd love to see everyone of our players blank him. Its been clear for some time he has an agenda with the EPL. In a way I want Manu to win and in another I dont. Hearing them harp on about "CHAMPIONS OF ENGLAND.....CHAMPIONS OF EUROPE shite does my tits in. I hate their fans more and more each season. Can they both lose ? -
We've enough players ready to take their pension without another joining the ranks.

Welcome to the forum mate....you bloody Aussies are taking over the place
-
Paulo's out injured until October the last I looked, so the chances of selling him on in the summer are practically zero.
-
Zirkov is more adaptable and would become another Belletti imo. Young on the otherhand can only really play in one position. English players are always going to cost more money, so if things are as tight as they appear then Zirkov would be the obvious choice if I had to pick one.

Hiddink hit the nail on the head quite a few times this season. We dont start a game off as we finish it. We sometimes wait for something to happen before we waken up and play football like we can. Its like they're still half asleep when they walk onto the pitch. Another thing is, whoever comes in will have to get the players onside straight away. We cant afford to have players bickering amongst one another and have others not giving 100%. Had we played with the conviction we shown in the 2nd half of the season we could have been looking at a possible double with the FA Cup final coming up.
-
It sort have had the feeling of a pointless game if you know what I mean. Nothing really to play for. Very happy with the performance today though and it was nice hearing Hiddink give the fans a parting message. Respect to the man. One day he may be back......Jose who ?

Ferguson full of admiration for Chelsea ace Lampard
Aesthetic Relic replied to the wes's topic in Matthew Harding Stand
I know its praise for our team in a way, but I cant stand the man even though he played for Rangers We all know what Lamps posesses, we dont need his jibber jabber. -
Drogba apologizes personally to Roman
Aesthetic Relic replied to Blue Feverr's topic in Matthew Harding Stand
Any have an idea how many apologies he's came out with during his time here? Must be hitting a half dozen times at least. He's what....30 years old? I can understand his frustration during the Barca match as tensions were high, but surely he must think to himself its about time I knuckle down and stop the petulance. If he wants to apologise in the right way he should stop going down so easily and recapture the form he had several years ago. He's a big man and shouldnt be nudged off the ball by anyone. -
If I remember right the players labeled him "BBC Man"....Bids, Balls and Cones. That seemed to be the height of his abilities.
-
Fair enough......he put out the cones
-
Imo he did nothing to stamp his name on the team. We played the same way with the same players. The only player he brought in was Anelka and he wasnt played that often. I also believe it was Steve Clarke who kept the momentum going once Jose left. Avram was just a face in the dug out. Clarkes influence was seen this season when he left we looked a different side, you can see the impact he's made at West Ham. Theres too many things like that for it to be a coincidence.
-
Yes. I still stand by my beliefs that the players carried the club through that period. If Grunt was such a brilliant manager clubs would be falling over themselves to have him as their coach. And as it stands, no one has taken him on. What does that tell you ?

Found this one e-bay if any of you are interested. Its a Chelsea neon sign http://cgi.ebay.com/EUROPEAN-BRITISH-SOCCE...93%3A2|294%3A50

Avram was a fud....always will be in my books.
