Mourinho delivers damning verdict on English football

Everton were unlucky last season against Fiorentina. But the teams just outside the top 4 had very good seasons. If Everton and Villa were to field their strongest sides they would cope quite well against anyone in europe imo. -
While we're on the subject of just pointing things out and not dismissing criticism...... hasent.... (hasn't) their.... (there)

If English clubs chose to go for the UEFA Cup instead of consolidating their position in the EPL they would be very capable of winning it. You saw that with Spurs, Villa and Everton. All fielding weakened sides as the money up for grabs for finishing higher in the EPL outweighs that of a run in the UEFA Cup. When Rangers got to the UEFA Cup final last season they earned around £10m for their troubles. Derby got relegated from the EPL and were given a £30m "parachute" payment for being one of the shittest teams ever to grace the English top flight. Teams sacrafice flair for cash in the EPL. West Brom played some brilliant football and got relegated. Stoke chose to kick and scream their way through the season and got rewarded. So what does that tell you were the teams below the top 3/4 are concerned ? -
Sounds like you were one of them

Ballack to sign contract extension
Aesthetic Relic replied to BlueLion.'s topic in Matthew Harding Stand
I'm sorry Herr Ballack, but............ On his performances this season I dont think he deserves a contract extension. I thought he would get back to a bit of form after shrugging off his injury problems, but tbh I think he's been way off the pace. That money could be spent better elsewhere by bringing a fresh face in. -
I have a feeling that if Ancelotti is given the job, we could bring back Hiddink after the World Cup if things go a bit Scolari next season. We have shown that we're not slow about making a decision to get shafted of a manager and with the success Hiddink brought in a limited space of time it could be tempting given the bond he created with everyone within the club. You heard it here first

The FA Cup Final - Chelsea vs Everton
Aesthetic Relic replied to BlueLion.'s topic in Chelsea Match Chat
Word............ I think we deserved this after the mixed season we had. Guus certainly deserved something for the way he turned all the negativity within the club to a positive. Respect to the big Dutchman. My own personal highlight of the game was pissing myself laughing when Ash was clean through and he sliced his shot off his shin or some other part of his lower leg into the stand. I was half expecting it to go there anyway. Never fails to deliver More pictures here btw........click -
I dont see what Maka has to gain from revealing something like this. He's a well respected player throughout the world, so this comes across as a bit out of character.
-
Even if we did spend that amount, if we decided to sell him in 2/3 years we would recoup the majority of that fee. Sheva is the prime example of paying over the odds for a player near the end of his playing career and we could end up selling him for buttons. Ribery still has the potential to improve. I know what option i'd rather take.

We need a cutting edge in attack, and to get that we'll probably have to pay top money for someone like Ribery. At 26 he's still to peak, so we could get a good few years out of him. Essien, Lampard, Ribery, Joe Cole, Anelka, Drogba..........are you drooling yet ?

Platini: I Like Barcelona's Style

I couldnt care if they had 18 titles or 118 titles. The only thing that matters to me is the next one. Roll on next season. -

I beg to differ. The final league table may show we werent up for the fight this season, but our second half showed we were more than a match for them and everyone else who went through us like a hot knife through butter. If we have that mentality and commitment going into next season then Manu will have one hell of a fight on their hands wether they had won tonight or not.
